tree frog said: It's not so bad. I grow cold weather species in the winter and the tent is mostly for edibles. Right now I have some Black Pearl flushing and am looking forward to doing a lot of cooking with them.
Anyway... the incubators are set up and running pretty well. There is some slight condensation in the jars and running plates in it makes visibility terrible but whatever, things are growing and the heat seems to stay around 72 even at night. The ATL 7 is putting up some nice stones too.
Made up four bags of millet, black kow, and coir/verm I had alreay prepped. Dropped one bisporus wedge in each bag and waiting still for visible growth, this was three days ago (I lost track of the wedges fussing with the bags).
Also dropped a bisporus wedge onto an EZLC plate that seems to be doing well so far.
Right now I'm running millet that was soaked in compost tea I made from the black kow. Tomorrow I plan to drop more bisporus wedges in a few quarts of that along with two quarts I have already prepped that have about a tablespoon each of black kow added to them.
So yeah, hoping to get something running soon!
All of this Bisporus talk is making me way too impatient for mine to get here in the mail already lol

It definitely works absolutely fine, just takes a little longer. In spring it's anywhere between 58F and 74F. At the moment the room sits at 68F at 2pm and I guess it was down to 60 last night.

Did I make good choices? Admittedly Ive been busy. Didnt make up new 1% LMA plates for the pans. Transferred these to 1.5% LMA instead and dont like the way theyre growing out so far.

What is there not to like about that plate? There seems a number of places to choose from for you.

Edit to my last post, I see now you've taken a few transfers.. It looks like you may have taken from a contaminated area in that 9-10 o'clock area. The other spots look good , but I like that area around 6 o'clock. Maybe my judgement is trash though. I hope someone will say so if they think differently. Do you have anymore plates on hand? You can always take a few more.

No more plates atm. Got to make new 1% LMA and streak another plate. Im now thinking 1.5% LMA makes pan myc grow funky. Never had pan myc grow this unsymetrically before. The germ colonies look better than the transfers.

Im sure I didnt transfer any contam. Theres a lot of it on that plate but the pieces i transferred were chosen under a powerful magnifying glass.

I made LCs out of some funny looking BVI plates 2 months ago. A bit over a month ago I inoculated some pan-cakes and EF-cakes, and I'm finally getting some fruits.
Plates:

First fruit, 6 days ago:
A few more, 3 days ago and 2 days ago:

One pan cake, 3 days ago and yesterday:

No canopy, but I'm happy Got a few weirdos in that pan cake, and the surface seemed dry. I poured water over it and put it back to fruiting.

Second tray today:

These pan cakes got absolutely drenched one week ago. Splatter from the air stones and too much fog. I've since raised them up a bit and lowered the fogging period, but guess I went a bit too far in the other direction. They've been in the FC for 2 weeks now.
Oh, and I ate 4 of those little fellas and they pack a punch! Nice high that came on quick, and stayed pretty constant for 4-5h.

Has anyone ever seen bisporus discolor? I have rust brown spots appear two weeks or so after full colonization. It's not the mycelium turning color but the verm/brf. Any clues?
