Omg asura that’s terrible I just had a 4 hour phone call with him a few weeks ago he wanted a detailed overview of my process and I ended up learning a ton from him as well Alan called during and I put him on 3 way the only other guy in the class got a very special experience and was so thrilled lol. He was sooo freaking smart and kind and just an absolute blast to talk with the class ran a hour over schedule. He was so knowledgeable about so many things no matter what topic we drifted to he has invaluable insights. We have talked here and there for the last several years but I really didn’t feel like i really knew him until then. ❤️❤️❤️

Hey Jake, good to see you!
Yeah man, he was one of a kind. He kind of dropped off the board around 2010 but I PM'd him a bunch just in case he showed back up. And one day he did and I got to know him a little bit. For me, at that time, it was like meeting my guru. I learned so much from that dude. He really went out of his way for me. I just can't believe it.

Can’t say I’ve fruited Bisporus, but here are my first pins. Many thanks to kirking and tweeke for sending me genetics when the vendor spores failed.

99.99 said: So I am running pans out of my Martha, but I could never get the humidity Just perfect ,because if you get water droplets on the mushrooms, they abort, and if they dry too much, they won’t get past the pinning stage.
So i use the square aluminum pans for the substrate, and then I use a wider rectangle to keep excess water from them, but to keep them constantly and a high humidity Below is what I have my timer set for the humidifier

You can see the evaporation pattern circled in red, but you can also see how moisture the air is as condensation on the lid This is the progress of the latest two containers I’ve started

UPDATE 1/14/2023 Walmart didnt have anymore of the square pans I used last time, so I used ones that were more rectangle. Problem being is the lids I put on top, didn’t supply the proper amount of fresh air for them to grow properly, so I grew them without the lids. ….Big mistake as you can see from the photos below. The mushrooms seemed to rot off at the base of the stem, and so many of the pins aborted I ended up tossing all six trays in the rubbish bin

Got busy again but this time i used less spawn , got bigger fruit but less of it

Blue Helix.....what can I say. Probably forgotten more than I'll ever know in this Myco pool. On larger doses I've encountered people's energy that have passed. Maybe I'll run into him in the realms. Hats off to you BH Peace Scot

Speaking of Bisporus… I think these have matured enough to claim my first successful fruiting of Bisporus.

The green house model is obviously superior! Nice find! What temperatures do you have in there (highs and lows)?
Also very beautiful Gym grow! Well done thirdeyewild!

Thank psilo! Temps are about 20-35 lately. The pans were in the shadiest/coolest part of the beds where the lettuce was growing. Pretty sure that spot does not get direct sun. There is definitely a microclimate there.

I have very little experience with Pans... These are T1s of TTBVI. I think the top 2 are probably ok, lower left has a quadrant from 6 to 9 o'clock that looks iffy, and the last 2, meh ?

Cased pan cyan trays are inside a martha tent at 95%+ humidity with good FAE and constant 77F temp - day 7 after casing. Should the trays be hand misted or surface watered before first flush? There are white structures poking through the casing, but they don't look like pins, just large white masses, trying to figure out what I'm missing as I thought they should be pinning by now.
I can't figure out if the casing is dry or wet (seems to be neither too dry or too wet - just in between). Assuming if it's kept between 93-98% humidity, surface conditions don't need constant droplets like cubensis in a monotub? After the humidifier turns on, there is a very thin layer of condensation that is evaporated by the time it turns back on again...

I grew some pan cambos earlier this summer. I still haven't gotten around to doing a proper full trip dose but I've been experimenting trying to find the microdose level (basically the line between feeling anything at all and not). It's scary/exciting how potent these suckers are. Most recently i took 150mg dried and I STILL could feel 'em without question! It's crazy, didn't think such potency was possible, would love to get it quantified via LCMS. First time i grew them i nearly threw out the whole tub thinking it was contaminated but it was just bruising of the odd looking mycelium. Grew them in horse poo, verm, straw, and coir with no casing. Aside from nearly throwing them out I really shit all over them, broke almost every rule in the book, and the little bastards still grew and powered through the most obscene abuse i (ignorantly) threw at them. Look at them sideways and they practically bruise themselves so blue they turn black. Pain in the ass to harvest neatly, I finally gave up on that and just started pulling out clumps like a fucking ape. Dried, it's like I have jars of toothpicks, but man, i pity the fool that underestimates them and jumps in head first with 3-4g like they're cubes, sweet jesus that would be a surprise like accidentally sitting on a cactus with 3" spines.

That’s cool Scotay! I wonder how they can tell - did they have monokyrotic mycelium of both and then dropped them on the same plate and they clamped as shown in the micrograph?
Is something like that described where you grabbed that photo?
