All of those look outstanding!
68 degrees Celsius is sufficient for pasteurization, but make sure you're reaching that temperature in the core, not just the outside, and that it holds for a minimum of one hour. If it holds that temperature longer, that is ideal. What a great technique for pasteurizing substrate!

I also have a question about pasteurization. will a temperature of 68 degrees celsius be sufficient? that's exactly what the sun gives me here. it would be nice if I hung myself without cooking in a pot.

Gorgeous, awesome work!

After I sift a bale of peat to use in my casing, leftover in my 1/4” screen sifter I’m left with these thicker pieces and the finer loose powder falls down into my bin then I use it for casing. Do I need to shred this thicker material finely or can I use it as is in a casing mix. A bale of peat gets me about 50% or less of fine loose material and 50ish% of this thicker material that sometimes has chips and sticks in it.

TTBVI, any thought? I don’t think they’re going to get any taller. Stems have kind of a translucent look.
First grow so I’m still learning

That’s good to hear!
Any advice for first time dosage? Hoping for a level 2, if they don’t get very tall will they be even more potent?
I’m still trying to get my head around .6g being enough for an intense trip

0.6 wouldn't be a bad place to start, 1 gram of those will be super strong, its kinda crazy but its true, they pack a punch and are awesome. I'm not sure what a level 2 is.
I hadn't taken mushrooms for a few months knowing I had these growing and wanted a fresh head to try them on. I took 2g of freshly harvested and then dried BVI, it was the strongest trip of my life. I probably will only do 1.5g max of those as 2g brought on a fair bit of anxiety/fear/discomfort until the peak subsided, insanely beautiful trip though despite that, the most visual of anything I've taken.
Also, the 2 grams I took, were not cracker dry, they had reabsorbed some moisture in the jar I stored them in so it was probably a bit less than 2g but they were all premature fruits that hadn't dropped spores. Also, they will hit you in 20-30 minutes, they come on fast, I assume because they are so tiny, its easily digested.
I asked gordo recently about potency, retaining potency for lengths of time after drying and storing and when to harvest. He was saying, If going for max potency and long term storage of that potency, it's probably ideal to harvest them a little bit premature/before they drop spores(which you'll start to observe when that is as you grow them more). As the mushroom grows and gets to spore dropping stage, he was saying more of the psilocybin converts to psilocin which isn't as stable when stored and could potentially degrade easier over time.
For what it's worth, they'll still probably hold a good bit of potency even if they get to spore dropping stage. I had some Estero's (many were fully opened up caps) I grew and dried that have been vacsealed for over a year that I recently gave to a friend to try and he has reported that they are still very strong.
Maybe it is just me or maybe there's something to it but I like to dry the mushrooms and store them intact, I don't like to grind them and store, could just be anecdotal but I've had stronger experiences eating the fruit bodies or grinding the fruits day of or near day of the trip. Maybe some of the alkaloids oxidize easier when turned to powder. People also suggest trying them fresh (I was told no more than 10g fresh of BVI when you are first trying them but your mileage may vary.). Crazy to think about because they are 96% water, 10g would dry down to about 0.4g dry. I have not had fresh yet so I can't confirm this but this is just something I was told.
I also read some people discussing, and again..Idk how true all of this is but I try to follow suit, that you want to be careful when harvesting or gentle as the mushrooms are much thinner and the alkaloids are less protected than say cubensis for example that has a much thicker fruit body/stipe.
TL:DR, they are extremely strong, work your way up testing the waters

Thanks for the reply. I noticed PE hit me really hard with a wave of anxiety that's super intense, but short. Is coming up on Pans similar in any way?

yes TTBVI are very strong. I ate 11 grams of fresh and was very surprised by the power of the effect. just their taste. how bitter taste they are. normally I don't have a problem with that chew, but this was unbearable. I had to swallow them as fast as possible.

I haven't found the come up to be uncomfortable when on a lower dose, I think if you take to much it can be

Just a quick question with photo. I am isolating genetics, doing lots of transfers. I have 2 plates of same transfer-myc with very uniform and whispy, fast growth. I have made few test jars to test genetics and this one is first to colonize jars.
Now when it has almost overgrown agar plate i noticed some solid white spots/strands around edges. Is that just myc getting thicker or is it contam?
Just made a transfer from opposite side as seen on second photo.

Managed to make some close up:

My first pans since early this spring. Panaeolus Cyanescens var Bunnell Florida (many thanks to Adas for the prints he sent to me to spread around the community).
It isn’t a great flush, but I like how tall they are and some of them have developed very meaty stipes (did some cloning this morning) 😊

PS: If anyone would like a print shoot me a PM with your address. It’s fine if you are outside of the US - I have international stamps for just that purpose.

This Rose pot has never produced before. But I don't remember putting any Bisporus myc there. Maybe I forgot or maybe it was thanks to spores.

Indoor sterile cake first flush ended up with mutant mess. The good news is, second flush looks completely normal and one fruit is absolutely HUGE like I've never seen before. Pics soon.
