I took a little break but I'm gonna get back to the lab soon. What do all you filthy panheads use for fly/gnat control. The winter here did not eradicate bugs as it didn't get very cold and the bugs are just rampant. I keep a really clean house too and these little buzzing bastards are everywhere!! I bought a couple light traps and several yellow sticky traps. Happy Sunday y'all!!! Until next time.....
I use Bacillus Thuringiensis, hot shot flying insect killer, and hydrogen peroxide each depending on the circumstances. Be sure to constantly spray all drains. I also have a UV bug light because it gives me pleasure to hear that snap of electricity when one dies.

Good lookin' pan grows, folks! Here's my first effort in awhile, some Wild Coast I've been sitting on for too long. This unusual phenotype had me thinking I had a P. antillarum mislabel for a moment. Meaty w/ crazy bell-shaped caps!

I was going to be happy with this grow if I just got a print or two.
Thinking there might be enough for a trip. Never tried pans before.

Some consider bisporus to be one of the best panaeolus to bioassay. There should be plenty for you to test.
Nice job!

lol yeah that should be a few trips unless you normally take 7+g of cubes.
.6 of pan jam was a full on trip for me.

I usually do 3.5 of TW. Or 1 of semps. Wet weight came to 25g. Dry weight of rye spawn was 25g. Also added 10g dry elk poo
I was thinking of 10g wet, does that sound about right to get the full pan experience?

10 grams wet is a good time without being overwhelming. That should be just under 1 gram dry. Nice grow!!!

My outdoor bisporus have been drying down between 3-5%. 10g wet should be a nice time!

I Love the look of those. Have they been put under a microscope to confirm species?

Thanks, Workman. I do have access to a scope, so probably worth a look. Definitely some interesting stuff that's emerged from South Africa(most of it shared by Zifozonke). Also, your Panaeolus microscopy guide is very nice!

Bisporus trip report. 10 g fresh was definately a nice pan introduction. Been dosing every 5 days or so, I like to try new varieties fresh and everything is finishing close together. So my tolerance is high.
I ate them straight up, turned off the lights and listened to Shpongle 'Codex' About 1/2 hour in the cev's started. Strings of vivid Mandelbrot fractals stretched across my mindscape. These wrapped around each other and thicked to fill the darkness. The geometry was typical for shrooms but the minute shapes seemed to have been stickered with writing on vibrant backgrounds. As the peak faded the geometry became dominated with soft fractal blooms. These lasted a long time. I wish I had gone in a little different. I felt really restless lying down. I kept stretching and switching positions. I grew bored with the tunes even though I was hearing nuances in the timbres of the sounds that I had never perceived before; despite tripping to it several dozen times before. Was able to sleep a few hours and love how there is no grungy feeling afterwards like cubes tend to do. I'm going to lower my tolerance and up the dose, probably for the August meteor shower. Have an all night outside trip. Also want to try a half gram before a ride in the forest sometime.
Definately impressed with their strength, and look forward to many more pan trips.

If some of you not have read Scotay's link to the test of WEZA also from Zifozonke south africa check it out. Gordo's WEZA sampel came out stronger than his sampel of BVI. Quote:

Hey thanks, V.L! Good to see you back crushing it again. Nice Mezcala, that's one that I've really enjoyed growing.
Regarding the SA mystery pan, it has been sequenced(I think Zif. posted it in the unknown pan thread). It is very close to bisporus, but different enough to suggest that it could be something unique. I've had a look under the scope, and I can tell you that there are two-spored basidia, and cystidia which look very similar to bisporus.
