I was doing some research on Panaeolus Cambodginiensis. I found a thread from 14 years ago of someone growing them on modified brf cakes using a setup like jcm fc. You could even say it's the ancestor of the actual jcm fc.
Here are the links:
Panaeolus cakes - HQ Pix - Day 10 now w/ ***B+ PiN pOrN*** & upside down pan

I'm convinced I have the crappy coir - probably another reason why I went away a while because everything was great spawn etc - tub colonises up to the point where it looks like its about to pin then goes green.
Its all I have atm but my plan is to hydrate as normal and then properly pasteurise for 2 hours in my sous vide, see if that works
Hopefully that should do the 'trich'

Asked a fellow shroomerite what he uses, and got that stuff. This pisses me off as I was becoming anal about spawning to bulk.. as things refused to grow.. at some point you're like..
Especially when waiting months with exotics.. a well.. good luck man, we'll manage.. just hang on.. feel you

Bisporus on Elk poo grow update:
My greenhouse is swinging from 5 at night to 35+ in the day so I started a tray in a mono indoors.

I love the trays button mushrooms come in. The are great for cult.
So the myc seems to like the mix so far. 1 used 10g poo (10 pellets, they averaged just over a gram each), 40g coir (both dry weight) and got distracted and added 250ml instead of the intended 200ml water. I did not adjust afterwards, so a little wet. I used liquid manure pasteurization tek. Ratio 1:2 ran the sub in 3 days, I think this is day 3 of casing but forgot to label it. Casing is about 6mm of pasteurized cactus soil.

Wow that's an absolutely crazy day-night difference! Do you live in the desert?

So I have some Pan Cyan Estero that takes forever to fruit and would like to get them to fruit faster. I am using the Gordo tek and have had good results with it in the past even though they were slow then too. I’m at a month now of “fruiting conditions” so sitting in open tubs with 1/2 on 1/2 off with the humidifier, plenty of FAE and temps in the high 70’s and low 80’s but no fruit popping up yet. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem but I am leaving on vacation in three weeks and don’t want them to be unattended for a week. Is there a way to get them to fruit faster? Temp change or humidity change? More FAE? I probably could have someone come check on them while I am gone but it’s kind of a pain to come to my house a couple times a day and check them.

Whaat? Then how can you have such crazy temp differences? Central Europe is closer to a desert than VI, but the day-night differences are much less.

It's a valley with really tall mountains close by. It takes a few hours off each end of the day.

Couple of trays getting cased tonight. Nec D grain to straw and manure in a bag a couple of weeks ago. After 100% colonization I broke it up and laid into the tray. This is the tray a week later.

Here is bisporus on manure, coir, and sawdust. Colonized in the bag and layer into the tray a week ago.

How they looking?

I am running ttbvi and estero and my estero took 7 or 8 days to start pinning versus ttbvi only 3 days. They both were fast to colonize the substrate, both are fruiting side by side in a similar set up to you. This is my first time running both varieties but the ttbvi is substantially faster so far on my end. I don't think there is much to do to change it but possibly cloning the first fruits to pop up possibly. Well see if it's contaminated and not showing yet, one other possibility in my head. The casing is a bit more "matted" on my estero. I believe I wet the casing to much from the start and it shows as it doesn't have a visible hold on the casing as I saw on bvi. May be premature assumptions on my end as we shall see what the next few days bring. The ttbvi is flushing back to back to back very nicely. Hope you have luck man. If it's clean be patient, all we can do. Mush love yall

my first grow, first flush
so when do I harvest considering they’re all different sizes? any advice moving forward to get a more even spread? One tray lagged quite a bit behind the other as you can see in the foreground. It’s just as busy but it seems to be moving slower. Caps seem a lot smaller than I was expecting but I’m happy. Mostly all went well. learned so much the past 2 months. was on the edge of my seat a couple of times with it. Feels great seeing it grow

Nice first grow! Let them keep going, the caps will flatten out more as they mature. Don't worry about them being different sizes, just pick as they mature.

Thoughts on where to transfer from this ttbvi plate? This is my first plate after receiving the culture on agar wedges.
