What sub you gonna use?
Coir/manure. Liquid pasteurization for the manure.

I opened it and turned out the casing was dry as f*ck. So I dunked the trays overnight and drained the excess water. I messed up the heater temp.. was at 24 and should be round to 28 celcius as there was not enough water evaporating.. stupid mistake

Some pot fruit

Found these dried ones in another flowerpot that I don't even remember inoculating last year. But regardless, they survived winter just fine. Not consumable, but notice the nice characteristic saddle-shaped cap on the big one.

I also love how the ones in the first pic have Trich all over the surface but still had enough time to fruit. They don't fuck around in nature.

Nice Adas, they are tough little things!
My outdoor grow is still moving along slowly but steadily.

Decided to clone the big boy.

The cap was the diameter of a small mouthed Mason jar!

Happy Monday friends and neighbors. Is that a thing? I'm feeling good getting the outside garden going. I'm using the horse shit in my bags outside so guess what went out there. The green nasties! But isn't that what nature is? Just everything goin back from whence it came or whatever? I put it in 3-4 piles/pots outside. So along with some very yummy veggies maybe some pans will raise their filthy little heads!!! I've got a couple pots strictly in a nice shady spot. I'll take a quick picture of the main pile and a picture of 2 of the containers of poop and some of the spawn. Thanks for everybody's help. Until next time.... Peace and chicken grease!! πβοΈ

Mystery S.A. pans starting to show through the funky looking overlay. A handful of boxes on various compost, hpoo, coir, straw sub mixtures are all starting pin now. one box was cased weeks earlier before the others and the only thing changed was the tubs being moved upstairs and temps being consistently warmer lately. That same box has also been recased 3 times, the others only 1 casing.

However, I don't want to be in the situation where I find myself banging my head for not having followed another setup..
So, what is the go-to martha setup these days? There are so many threads out there, if anyone can recommend me a proven setup I'd appreciate it

I just got mine running. Patterned after his. Itβs pretty amazing. Iβm only doing gourmets in it now, because itβs in my basement and only 65 degrees. I can easily keep it 90+ % humidity, and still have lots of air changes. Itβs all in those cycle timers.

Not been able to post pics in a while but back now.
Thought I'd share the progress of my second attempt at pans - here is pan cyan (blue springs?) from a revived old spore print
My jar took for ages to finish up but it decided to finish after giving the lid a quick crack.
I used a mixture of grass from outside my house that I had dried and rehydrated mixed with composted manure I purchased online.

They seemed to move quick and this was after approx 6-8 hours - spawned 16th june

And this was yesterday - however they're practically finished now and i'll get another pic tomorrow

So here they are today - I was concerned that the grass I had collected wouldn't work but they seem to be quite happy. This is the grass that has grown under my bird feeder so I wonder if its grown as a result of the bird droppings with the seeds.

A slight yellowing underneath - normal?

Managed to grab a grain from the jar to keep the culture going in case its good - this is t2

Good to hear from you Yaga dude
Was wondering to pick your brains on casing (or anyone else with experience). I need to get some pasteurised today. I have this cactus mix I was planing to hydrate, do I need to mix it with anything? I have verm and coir here - and manure

Gonna fruit a la JCM I rekon

Went spores- agar - LC - Rye - poo with these cambos. First time with cambos and was pretty much just like cyan up until the grains. Found them to be very slow on grains initially but then blast off after the shake. These were neglected during fruiting and so not surprised they look a bit haggard. Tent got extremely wet for a while. Thinking of working with these during an upcoming solstice ritual.

Cacti soil looks good for casing! I wouldn't add any nutrition to your casing if your fruiting indoors.
Good luck!

I didn't get any pan fruits on my first try. So I went back to spores. I am trying to clean these older plates up and put them to water agar. But so far, the mature plates look exactly like the first try. Sadly, the spawned trays that failed also looked like the same growth on these plates. They never fruited or showed obvious contamination.
So can more experienced eyes tell me if there is any hope for any of these or recommend anything?
Pan BVI
Looking at plate 1214 in the second picture you can kind of see some bluing that I saw on other fluffy mature plates and some of the trays. The blueing never turns to spores or expands past the inside of the thickest myc.
Pan Bisporus
Do any of these donor plates look like they have hope or any other recommendations?

Awesome.
I've mixed it aprox 50/50 with verm and bought to field capacity. Just loading it into vac seal bags and gonna sous vide to pasteurise.

When I apply to the sub its quite thin right? Do you compress it much or just chuck it on loose??

Yes, thin casing, the only compression is accidental when I'm leveling it.

Hello Reverend, I try to keep my pans as MS as possible. Looking at your dishes, if it were me,
For BVI
#1 just toss #2-4 have potential. #2 looks like it has a raised mycelium ring where it goes from whispy to thicker growth. The ring may be a sign of contam? Maybe take a transfer from inside the ring too? Are #3&4 bottom shots?
For Bisporus #1 might have mycelium to transfer from? #2 toss #3 looks the best and would probably take a couple transfers from.
Work from cleanest plates to most questionable. This is just me looking at small pictures on my phone. In person, they might look different.
Good luck!

Iβm going to get some grains prepped tonight for the pan cyan LC I have. So is it easiest to add some straw/manure in with the grains to PC, then just transfer to a tub once itβs colonized and add some casing?
