Composting manure can produce high volumes of methane. When suddenly exposed to/mixed with oxygen and given an ignition source (static, solar, ect) the high volumes of methane can combust in glorious fashion.

Great job Old Fart, those both look beautiful!
What was different for you between growing the cyan and bisporus? Why was the bisporus more difficult?

BVI was from a clone I took — not from a cluster, but rather the biggest of the bunch.
Bisporus was from a print — struggled to grow them, but they looked awesome.

Awesome work!

It looks OK. You might check for an ingredient list on the back to be sure.

@ old_fart_out_west An inspirational grow there. Well done.

I was thinking about fruiting in an unmodified mono, but the zaps are not moving after a month in the JCM FC, so I'm thinking about fruiting the bispo's in there and park the zaps with the subtropicalis in a 100L ez dial tote for now.
Thank you. I have an 85L tub that looks destined to become a Pan-chamber. Dunno yet which style of FC I will try.

Sorry Scotay. Wish you better fortune on the next grow.
Update from my side. Just going through the motions. I have definitely been using cubensis-eyes to look these grows.
This jar on opening had a gentle mushroom aroma.
Same gentle aroma. The agar in this jar had the powdery centre in some ealrier posts. It colonised faster than the 2 other jars from different agar (70%). 11 days.
So, G2G to these. The smaller jar to the 2 smaller jars and the other... to the bigger jars.

I've found BVI, Estero and Nec-D to be the easiest to grow. They're fast, resistant to contamination, and require very little tending too during fruiting (as long as you have your tent conditions dialed in, of course).
In my (very) limited experience with Bisporus, it's slower during all stages of the grow, required near-perfect conditions to pin, and then when it did pin, I found that many would easily abort if received too much water. However, I should add a major caveat here: I grew this off a print I bought online, so the challenges I had could be isolated to the culture itself. In fact, I've seen many others say just the opposite about their experience growing Bisporus (aside from it moving slower) -- and those same people have produced some insane flushes and canopies.
All of that said, Bisporus has provided the best trips out of anything I've ever grown, followed by Nec-D and BVI. The euphoria is next-level. The visuals are intense, but also crystal clear. And, while it could be set and setting, Bisporus has taught me the most about ego.

I Finally started skimming through this thread. I was told I would be getting some bisporus spores/LC from a guy I was chatting with. Well that was months ago, and now I’m thinking of venturing into something besides cubes. I’m going to have to read through this a bit before I get decide to order some spores.

Then this is good to use ? I'm sorry for repeating, but I'm afraid to buy it and that later it won't be something that I can use.

I would give it a shot. Does it say how much peat is in there? The only thing I would maybe do is check the pH of the compost and adjust it with hydrated lime or lime when it is too sour but it should be all good considering that pans are fast colonizers. Would also be good to have some coir at hand to adjust texture if necessary.

Bisporus germination. Can't wait to photograph these. Such pretty mushroom.
