Haha!! Time to chill till the next episode!!

Got myself another jar for outdoors.. had 1 jars which was obviously bacterial.. but after giving it a second shake, also this bisporus jar shows a few bacterial kernels.

Dried grains of Pan 'Trop Aus' (tropicalis?) Were put to agar 5/21, they are showing signs of life already. The grains had been dry for 7 months.

Nothing on the plates yet but I think it's only been 2ish days. I'm gonna post a picture of the jar....it's early but I think it's starting to come on already. Maybe the hurry up and wait is actually hurrying up!?!? Fingers....toes ....nose hairs crossed. Until the next episode of The Pans of Our Lives!! 😎✌️

Got no update on my side, for now.
Been some great posts recently.
@Scotay, I still struggle to leave my agar alone. My Pan-plates are now in a quarantine box... Even then I still cant leave it alone. Gotta look.
@0t0lernace... I cannot wait to grow Bisporus the first time. Waiting for the print to come home to me. Being on the bottom side of the planet it takes a while to get here - could be any day or another 3-5 weeks.
I dont see any holes in the tray lids. Are the lids upside-down? And how do you fruit the trays? (Thanks)
@YoshiTrainer... Nice to see the dried grains working for a pan. I know it works for psylocybe's - may Nats came to me on WBS.
I read your tek on parchement paper drying. I have to wait for the end of the month to get a set of 250ml preserve jars that I can use for drying grains. Also, have 10 x thin pour agar plates at the ready and have already built and prepped the sleeves - just to make some time to start a test run.
@ekabpils... Thanks for confirming that a pan can be cloned from a dried specimen.

I left a small gap in the lid, just for some gas exchange.
I was thinking about fruiting in an unmodified mono, but the zaps are not moving after a month in the JCM FC, so I'm thinking about fruiting the bispo's in there and park the zaps with the subtropicalis in a 100L ez dial tote for now.

Just me trying to make conversation!! I know I've said this a lot but just wanna thank everyone for chiming in and/or sharing your experiences with us all. It's just refreshing. Until the next episode....... Peace and chicken grease to y'all!! 😎✌️

Scotay, your efforts show resiliency. Great to see you not giving up. But trying again without pinpointing the previous issues and fixing them is just wasting energy.
I think your sterilization is flawed. Adas guessed your inoculation is flawed. 0T0lerance suggested to leave a sterilized jar virgin to see if it contams or not. Anyhow, you should find the problem and fix it.
Good luck and don't give up.

Sooooo.... even though the day had bad news there's also a good side. I'm getting my soil ready for the garden and thought I'd take a picture of one of the piles of horse shit that I'm dealing with. As I raked the pile I uncovered a small fire deep in the pile. Gotta love nature right!?!? Doesn't really smell like poop anymore. I'll take the bad grain and some of that and some straw and put it in my garden!!! Maybe they'll Pop up outside after a good rain!! Happy Thursday to you panheads. Forward on 😎✌️

I've spent a few hours trying to gain insight into the differences between strains of pan cyans. I have found many old threads that seem to be contradictory and very little from the last few years.
In light of all we know now, is a pan cyan a pan cyan in the same way that a cube is a cube?
If there are differences in morphology and effects between pan cyans from different regions, say Florida vs Mexico vs Australia vs Hawaii, is it possible that these are actually different species/subspecies? Have the genetics been elucidated yet?

Nice pile! What did you mean to say with the sentence I've highlighted? Not literal fire, right?

I think he's actually talking about fire, literally. Happens when manure and hay and straw is mixed and left to compost. Haven't seen it happen myself, by my father said he's seen it. Deep inside the pile the temps go crazy, and when turned over it burns in flames, not a blazing fire, just brief weak flames.

I mean I've heard about Hay auto-ignition, but it seems to be the kinda thing that everyone talks about, yet it's never been caught on camera, ever.

Some recent BVI and Bisporus.
BVI was from a clone I took — not from a cluster, but rather the biggest of the bunch.
Bisporus was from a print — struggled to grow them, but they looked awesome.
