Shook the bisporus around 30%, boy o boy. Time to pasteurize some nice and juice substrate for that specie.. cambo komodo is also in need for some grain by now. Happy panning everybody!

Got round 2 going...a bit let down by the pinset from my first pan clone (BVI). Looks pretty much the same as the initial MS grow. Oh well.
First jambo trays, one is fighting through some pretty heavy overlay in the JCM tub and surprised at how good the second is looking so far in a monotub with perlite

First attempt at Bisporus. I’ve found them to be more challenging than other pans, but I’m enjoying the learning curve. Oddly enough, one half of the tray continues to show healthy growth but will then abort, while the other half is slower growing but doesn’t abort. Not sure why, but I do know where I’ll be taking my clones from.

They’re small, but quite beautiful to look at.

I wonder what the trick is to getting a dense full canopy with cyans. You got more trays on the go?

Is this casing thick enough? It seems thin but this is new to me so I’m asking before I case the next tub.

Looks good to me. With pans you don't even want the casing layer to be 100% covering the substrate. You can leave little spots bare. Somewhere around 80% to 90% coverage seems to work best.

gotcha. Ima get a big seasoning bottle and shake the casing layer on. Thin casing layers are a pain. But worth it. Thanks much!

I think I have cleaned the culture. I have been at this point before... So, looking for a more experienced opinion.
Pan Cyan ex KZN, South Africa
The yellow plates are 0.5 MEA and the other is 2% MEA. At least the myc growth is organised.
 This one is 2% MEA.
I am still looking out for the middle going chalky/powdery. If any shows again, I try get a snap shot.
Otherwise, I believe I am good to go to grain, with these.
Some baby food jars...
From the previous attempt to clean up the culture. Looking "okay", the white-balance is off, the grains are lighter. Noc'd on April 20, shaken April 29
A smiley jar...
Grains are darker - Milo, oats and cow dung. The myc is looking good. Noc'd May 4 and will be shaken tomorrow.
Any and all comments welcome.

Bisporus actually seems to prefer thick casings IME.

Nice Genome!
It looks like, from here, they are good. The only thing that catches my eye is the small dimple around 8 o'clock in #3 photo. I've wondered if mine looked like that because I didn't cool my scalpel enough and set back the mycelium in that spot or contam?
Can't see the brown agar pic.
Grain jars seem ok too, good job so far!
Good luck!

Thanks Yoshi. Damn glad to hear that someone agrees they should be good.
In pic 3, I hope/think you are seeing shadow from the micropore tape and label on the lid.

My first attemt to grow pans. Actually second, but I swapped my ps. cyanescens with pan cyanescens. And ps. cyanescens didn't like the manure...
Nevertheless I got the agar, and it developed some cottenish spots. Is this normal for pans?

I know I haven't read enough around here but I've never seen this before. Is this something a lot of y'all do? Why not case the whole surface?
The first mystery S.A. box to start their green....it's only 1 of 2 but I imagine the 2nd is right behind it. they were a germ plate, onto wbs, and one spawned to coir+manure and the other coir+sawdust (4-23)...cased 5-1....should I scoop it out and recase or just recase? I think I read zif or maybe someone else just recase with sand as a 2nd or 3rd resort? That's the sawdust box goin first.

old_fart, at least the ones going strong for you are looking thick...nice job! This is my last bisporus box for a bit....sslc on stand by though. What's the shelf life on that perhaps? I can refrigerate if it'll extend that. Thanks

Fucckkkk....... attack of the green monster.... AGAIN.... I'm thinking maybe I should try a different kind of pan because I'm either majorly screwing up in my sterile technique or the oats are hit. It looked good on agar. This shit came on very quickly. Aggravated with it. It's still nice seeing/hearing everybody's experiences!! I'm gonna try a different kind of print. Happy Friday panheads. I wanna be a panhead too damnit!! 💯🤣😂

Happy Friday to you too, Scotay.
And me too... Hell, I'll take a panhead Harley too, if that's what it takes.
Sorry to hear about your loss You got green on your previous round of jars, right? IIRC the consensus was that your spawn was probably the source.
Have you got a journal with pics that we can look at? I don't know that I am gonna be useful but one of the others might pick up something.
