First time with bisporus. BRF pucks from multispore syringe started on March 15. Cased with pasteurized coir/manure @ 4/1 on Apr 25. Wondering howβs itβs looking. Edit: Cased with straight pasteurized coir. Coir/manure mix is for my vegetables. Doing too many things at the same time. My bad.

@tao, those are looking good an healthy! Have you considered casing with something other than manure? Using manure could be counter productive to the purpose of a casing, considering it will colonize through exceptionally. I imagine it will still fruit regardless. Either way your right on your way to some fruits!

Thanks. The bisporus casing is pasteurized coir, not a coir/manure mix. I have coir and coir/manure buckets for my veggies next to each other. I did use the coir bucket for the bisporus. Iβll edit my post.

Scotay, you gotta copy the thing that's under the image in your gallery. Not the link itself.

Yo peeps! I've been given this "Panaeolus Bisporus". But it's kinda sus to me, to the point I don't even recognize it as Panaeolus lol. What do you guys think? Never seen something like this before. The stems seem to be Pans, what caught my attention are the caps. Why are they brown? Maybe enviroinmental?

Those are bisporus, they have dark caps. Dark brown as pins thatβll turn to a more black/grey sometimes with white circulation or totally white when drying out. Do not worry you got the good stuff right there.

WhiteDemon said: Hello everyone! After a lot of research I am going to do pans in a monotube and with brf .
Which is better; prepare brf jars normally and mix with coir and manure afterwards, or prepare the brf directly with manure (like MacMerdins cakes) and then mix with just coir later?
Could someone please answer me? Can i add manure only in the substrate and do standart brf jars (without manure). ?

You could do either, if you donβt have a good reliable way to pasteurize manure do the manure in the cakes, otherwise if your just using the brf as spawn I donβt see why it wouldnβt work. Bear in mind Iβve not personally tried that, though I donβt see any reason why it wouldnβt work.

Great results! Glad to see this.
I have a nice Bisporus bag colonized and I'm gonna bury it somewhere in nature to see what it does.

I usually hang out in "Panaeolus in Monotubs" but I am not at bulk at all yet - I know manu of the same members hang here.
I am still fighting with a contaminated syringe... I am on the third round of plates from a fresh dilution of 1ml of the syringe. Nothing to report there yet.
Of the plates from the 2nd round I kept 2 because I am stubborn. I put them to minijars... One ended up with a blob of cobweb
This is the remaining mini-jar at 9 days - temperatures are in the low to mid 20's Celsius.
And I decided to shake it today.
Does the myc look okay to you? Good?

Some nice news today. A friend has kids into horses. The land where the horses (& many others) are kept there. I asked the groundskeeper about horse poop π© and he points me in the direction of two really nice piles of stuff that's been there since last summer/fall. The fella was very nice. Said I could take the maintenance road he was currently on and access the pile whenever. So in the last week I've seen 2 outta 4 of my kids and FREE POOP!!!! π© I'm gonna go buy a $2 lotto ticket tomorrow. ππ€£π Jeez Louise.... It really is the smallest stuff that means the most. Dunno how my other half deals with me! Getting excited over shit piles!! Have a good one ya panheads!! πβοΈ

Hello folks, update on my project:
Received BVI print, made a MSS and injected some WBS that I had left over from my bird feeding. I just soaked them 15 hours than PC.They 5years old but it looks like BVI loves them. Jars are inside box on heat mat at 30C to speed up colonization.

My plan is to do a budget tek without spending too much money. Will try a gordo tek in a tub with a mister/ fan in corner of room.
I will wait a few more days than start spawning it with vermiculite and compost that I got left from my gardening.

Transfers taken from germ plate. This the type of growth I'm looking for? Kind of at a loss. All my pan plates stall out while they're still young on 1% LMEA. Actually just tossed one of those wedges into a grain jar just for the hell of it. Maybe what won't grow on agar WILL grow on grain? Really at a loss.

Hey man, I've been having the same problem, this is my first time growing and trying to grow pans alongside some cubes. My Pan Cams seem to just stall after about 2 weeks, and grow very slowly in those two weeks. My myc looks a bit different, it's thick, almost like marshmellow spread. I threw a couple plates into grain and they initiated growth quickly but stopped after a day or two. I did continue isolating the leading edges of some of my marshmellow myc plates, and I finally have a handful of plates that are like gen 7 or 8 which are starting to show more organized growth patterns - some rhizo growth, but it's definitely whispy - which is growing quicker. I'm hoping to move those 40 mm plates to some 100 mm plates to try to grow it out and hopefully I'll have some more luck with grain.
Maybe you could try continuing to transfer until you see more organized growth? I think choosing the leading edge is particularly important with pans, but I am very much a novice and may be totally wrong.
