Baba I made a small batch of agar and poured 6 plates (half pint widemouth jars) I've not gotten to the point of seeing nice myc on the substrate since I started with pans so I decided to swab the actual container before I put casing on it to try to get it fruit. I'm going to try to take pictures tomorrow. Maybe I'll even figure out how to get the picture thing working. I'm a hot mess!! Happy Monday/Tuesday you panheads!! 😎✌️

I've been harvesting the bigger fruits every 36 hours or so from these 3 trays, and the pinning just doesn't seem to stop like I'm used to with cubes. Is this normal pan thing? They aren't getting as tall as maybe they have potential for but not complaining with the density!
Also, I keep calling these Peace River because that's what was indicated on spores but.. I'm not entirely convinced this is correct. Anyone else experienced with Peace River? Do these look like something else?

Is this what I should be looking for? 1% LMA

I inoculated several pancakes. If I get even a single fruit from any of them, would it help to clone the fruit? I'm finding it nigh impossible to get a culture that doesn't at some point stall on agar.

Check it out guys, this is my estero run, second attempt. I think it's close to pinning there's tons what I think are potential pins but I truly don't know shit lol. Here's a pix for reference hope.to get some feedback. Note it's also not yellowing anymore that was due to stress I think bc the jartha hose running from the top had fallen down so it was dry as shit when I noticed it maybe under 12 hours later bur still. The trays are no longer yellowing.

Yeah Adas..... I guess maybe the lightbulb went on. There's 2 that pretty much look exactly like that. I have two others but they are a bit thicker substrate and they're not really getting fuzzy at all. Two out of 4 ain't bad. Hurry up and wait. I hope I officially become a panhead with this. Thanks for the encouragement. My temps are better 74-80. I actually swabbed that fuzz from that container in the picture back to agar because I liked how it looked. Happy Wednesday!! 😎✌️

kirkeng said: @baba, yeah this tub was on the corner spot of rack, that’s a good call on turning the tub I will try that! I’ve been meaning to pull my racks a bit away from the wall as well, space is limited though, my 6x10 room is fucking packed to the rim and barely any room to move any more.. gotta get creative.
@fred, no Martha used, I’ve never used a tent or any environmental control, I like the challenges of doing without. As others have stated genetics play a big role and filtering for genetics takes time to get right for a tub, not all work for this setup. Airflow can happen with a simple flipped lid just fine. I do not fan these tubs all passive airflow, I mist twice a day that is it. Further where I live gets 4 seasons and besides winter the room is not temperature controlled, temps fluctuate from 65-95F throughout the year, Rh from 10-60, everything grows fine all year though adjustments have to made each season. Regardless if you believe me or not this is how I do it. I’ve been doing it this way for several species for many years, it has not happened for me like this over night… yes this is a clone from a previous ms tub. I’ve yet to run into a mushroom that cannot be grown in a tub set-up like this, maybe I will one day but frankly if I do I attribute it to a genetic or skill issue and eventually I know I can do it, at least that what I tell myself to keep trying. It’s not some conspiracy to trick people into wasting their time.. pans especially can have a reputation for being very finicky, and they are to an extent, however with enough patience they can be just as forgiving as cubes. I’ll add just because something isn’t being done “by the book” does not mean we are lying to you. Edit: also since I use racks to organize my tubs that means it’s in a Martha? Nah man, just means I have several racks to keep everything organized and easily accessible, since I must them twice a day I don’t like stacking so I don’t have to I stack and restock all the time to mist.. enough with this pseudo detective work.
@everyone else, thank y’all!
Hey there K! I flip back sometimes and I read this. Now I can't speak for pans or other exotics but cubes aplenty.... I've never really done anything but turn my lids upside down on the tote. (Last one was like maybe 55 liter) I did mist them a couple times a day and that was that. Then last fall became brutal and the gnats/flies fuckin swarmed!! All my tubs were unmodified. The current pan tub is just using a flipped lid and high humidity. On the flip side of life.... I couldn't imagine having a tent that packed with these mushy boogers!! But I'd really like to be your fuckin neighbor!!💯🤣😂 I've had several tents and small rooms with great cannabis but that's a different story. There's sure a lot of people on here that I'd really love to just sit down and smoke a big fatty or munch a brownie with (for those who don't smoke) of some really tasty cannabis and just pick their brains!! It'd be epic conversations for sure dontcha think? Sooo much accumulated information just this thread alone. On that note...Happy Thursday!!😎✌️

Hey guys, why is my pan cam mycelium looking like marshmellow spread on this agar? It's so thick and slow moving, and when I've tried to A2G it, it never takes.

I'm itching to case. Those green circles highlight small dark orange droplets forming on the heaviest growth areas.

@kirkeng thank you
@Red Aghast yes, coir + decades old horse poo from barn I had to leach out + luck. I was afraid it was going to be a total fail based on how sour it smelled within a day after mixing with the rye, but just put to martha and cranked up FAE and smell went away, eventually got to here.
@everyone I'm still curious if they look like something other than Peace River?
now scratching my head if there's a faster harvest method than one at a time

Hello everyone! After a lot of research I am going to do pans in a monotube and with brf .
Which is better; prepare brf jars normally and mix with coir and manure afterwards, or prepare the brf directly with manure (like MacMerdins cakes) and then mix with just coir later?

I'd call it taupe with violet? this pic should be fairly accurate color, you can see for yourself - would anyone care to speculate which pan variety this is? doesn't seem to quite match the peace river pics I see on the net:

not really, although I think with cubes it's good to switch them up as it does seem to spice up the trips by growing different ones. This is first time ever with the pans, and all at once also the first time with Psilocybe Natalensis, neither of which I've taken time to bioassay properly yet. I will say though, I have my hopes up that natalensis and pans will provide heightened journeys with less taste/digesting annoyance as with cubes...
