Very very excited for my first pan fruits. I realize they don't look optimal, but I'll take 'em!
Panaeolus Cyanescens Peace River, multispore to agar to rye to questionable coir/poo bulk
Any constructive criticism/suggestions?

The substrate looks very dry, I would run them much much wetter.

Hey there and happy 420 you filthy panheads!!! I appreciate all of the advice on the grains and everything. I definitely think I'm gonna give WBS or millet a chance for grain. I mean oats worked great with my cubes countless times but not this. I don't mind a challenge. I just don't like getting super frustrated. But it will not force me back to cubes. Sooner or later I'll get it figured out! I have a question. People are hot and heavy on the search for morels. I know it's a bit cooler still but wondering if it would support actives growing in the area. Take care y'all and I hope your totes and tents and dehydrators are pinging like crazy!! 😎✌️

This better? I did not soak the substrate itself, but for past 18 hours the timer for water atomizer has been cranked up around 2x of what it was. How wet is too wet? Is it ok for fruits to be glossy wet from fog? Also, are the fruits that turned blue safe to consume, just stressed from being dry??

Yes, that's much better. You want to avoid pooling but want to keep surface glistening and the caps should never look dull but maintain at least a semi glossy skin. It's hard to overdo it with pans which is why I find it easier to overshoot and dial back to find the sweet spot than the other way round.
Looks like it's time to harvest.

How do you tell? To me, they've pretty much had this same look but each day they get a little bigger. I've seen quite a few pictures of peace river online where the caps look umbonate on the biggest ones, and the smaller ones look more like mine (in same picture)

The color of the caps turning light and spore deposits on top of a few caps is my preferred time to harvest and to take prints. Not saying you have to right now, it's personal preference but since those fruits had a bit of a dry spell for a while I wouldn't necessarily expect them to mature like ones that were kept in ideal conditions through out.
Anyway, no harm in waiting and see what happens. Nice work.

Happy to join here again, I have 7 x T1 going for Pan Bisporus and 8x T0 Pan Cambodginiensis . Managed to run a relative silent JCM FC setup indoors, happy days.

It is said to have a slightly different trip character and that got me interested growing this specie last year. Survives mild winters, interesting for outdoor growths. Some managed to grow them in tubs, less demanding maybe.. Some info about norbaeocystin popped up half a year ago https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-world-record-74190322 Fruits are decent size en stipe is pretty sturdy, so yeah I like it for a number of reasons.

Hi,
horse manure were stored at the balconly and it was wet there during the winter and the bag with horse poo been forgotten at the balcony... It looks that some mould attacked it? Or what is that? Is it safe to use this poo or it's better to throw out?
There are some pictures of this

Thanks

Bra, you can use it if you pasteurize it properly. That kills any mold.
Bisporus bag for my friend. He planted them in the forest into an old horse shit pile. Doing the lord's work.

Bisporus spawn becomes very densely colonized if you add sawdust to your grains, like this. On pure grain the myc looks very weak.

Hello group, I am new to Pan growing and love to learn. Does anybody knows where to get Pan spores from a reliable source?

Sally, they absolutely have pan spores.
Spore begging is against forum rules, and it's especially suspicious from a brand new account with three posts.
You have been given the information you need to find pan spores.

My straw probably needed to be a bit smaller, but coir/compost/straw at 50:25:25 ratio, roughly 4:1 - 3:1 spawn/sub ratio.
These are sandose that I commented that weak grains potentially being bacterial, but they are moving along nicely. I take the fluffy myc as a good sign.
This is 5 days after spawning, moving very fast. I hope I can post some pin porn

Is there a good thread about panaeolus fresh vs dry, and notes about drying that are specific to this species and not about cubes?
I did a search for "drying panaeolus" and only found this: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25891679 which asks the same questions I have but without any conclusions.
I'm hoping people here can answer base on actual experience (without speculation):
What is expected weight change wet vs dry?
What is expected loss of potency/feeling of trip after drying? -There's a lot of comments I've found about it being bigger deal to eat pans fresh because experience "is so much better" than dried vs how cubes don't change much when drying.
Is there considerable difference in trip after drying @115°F vs @140°F etc?
