I just built a 50 gallon steam sterilizer for pasteurizing masters mix blocks for gourmets, plan to hook it up to my a digital meat thermometer... gonna stick a couple probes in between the middle of the stack of substrate bags to kinda monitor temps... need to put a drain in the bottom and set the barrel on cinder blocks or a couple pallets.. and I'll be good to go, already ran a test run in it... it's nice being able to fit like 40 5lb substrate blocks in it... if it works for gourmets it'll work for poo for my pans

When I was running pans I did notice I got more flushes from pasteurized stuff, but I most definitely had awesome results with sterilized as well.

This is my first successful Pan grow. Thanks to all the growers here who've helped me out! Here's my BVI (top) and NEC-D grows about one week after pinning. The BVI seems to have slowed down quite a bit - was expecting for them to get bigger. Any thoughts? I did crank the FAE up a bit yesterday and added a little water to the sub with a syringe. The NECs seem to be doing a little better. What is a "typical" pin to harvest duration?

In your own personal grows? I know there's been debate about it bering pasteurized vs sterilization but the mass concensus is to pasteurize. Curious as to any examples you've seen of this being a thing?

many dont have a spare kitchen to run hour long pasteurization, than sterilization comes in handy.. working with poo i rather sterilize, u also can do pasteurization but make sure its done properly.. for that you need to buy more equipment.
both work.

As a side, pasteurization can be done with no extra equipment than what you would already have if youβre already cultivating. Stovetop in jars is a way, hell you can do it in a cooler with the proper procedure. Pasteurization can be as simple or complicated as you like to make it. Just want to say that pasteurizing can be done properly with materials every cultivator should already have at their disposal. It does not need to be a thing to be afraid of. Sterilization is also great though and just as easy, to each their own. Asuraβs tel uses sterilization to good result for your interest. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25987049

Here is 1 of 2 tubs of Alabama from last year, I let them go 3 flushes. If you search the various threads, you'll see other indoor grows plus sterile subs I took outdoors and fruited. Actives, gourmets and mycelium grows, all get sterilized. It is what works for me with my growing conditions.

I have some bisporus going now with low-prep grains and sterile subs and casing, fingers crossed!

well done, another thing I tried is just soak grains without boiling. it also works perfectly. soak em 24h, dry em 30min and they good to go.. all this boiling was also waste of energy and time plus no more stinky hot kitchens in summer time. I tried this with milo, pop corn, barley and wbs. For pans no grains are even needed ..in times when grains getting more expensive also worth to consider.

You misunderstand, I'm calling you out.
I want you to post pictures of your grows.
You haven't posted a single one, ever.

3 days maybe - the tray just filled out more too. They didn't get a ton bigger. I'd say they are only about 2" on average. Are those BVI in your photo?

I have blocked your PMs.
So what you are saying is you have no grows to share here, or any proof that you do grow?

All explained in PN. And yes I never grown anything , neither have any other human grown anything.. WE might provide some favorable growing conditions but the growing part is up to a way higher intelligence than our primitive ego mind.If you dont like what I write than put me on ignore. Is just that simple. Hope this answers your question and please stay on topic now.

Okay, just wanted to make sure you've never cultivated mushrooms before I followed through with the block.

very well done, depending what you wanna do with it? You want to make prints? Than let them go further. Harvest them before they start dropping spores.
