Update on the transfers and break and shakes, I placed all my supplies in a rarely used bathroom in the basement and put a space heater in there set to 76 degrees, it seems to helping immensely. The marker lines were drawn yesterday to give an idea of how fast we could be moving, I was concerned bc they were so slow but it seems the higher Temps in a more controlled environment are working.

Are those still grown in a tub with bubbler? Just asking because this is a tray.
I would be keen seeing this culture being fruited in all the different ways. SGFC, Mono, JCM, Martha....

Agreed. It seems like a good experiment, like you said, would be to take a very successful culture and see how it performs in various fruiting chambers. For example I have a culture that does really well in only a sgfc with entirely passive humidity and FAE. Would be interesting to see how it did in other environments.

of the way to the top of the perlite. But I agree with everyone that the heater may not work if itβs submerged in perlite. Iβm not sure if perlite+air stones will add extra humidity.
Here's the pump I use. 25 bux. It works great with a couple large air stones and a huge home Depot yellow top tub. You'll spend less on the pump than the perlite. I can't imagine needing to skimp less than 25 bucks for the pump.
Just follow the Tek, don't mess with it until you get some results.

Here is my current Estero attempt. Question: case now or can it wait 2 days? Obligations will occupy my time and I can't case them tomorrow. What do you think?

Got some nice bisporus ready to go to LC.

And I finally got some Pan pins! Many failed attempts, and this wonβt be anything amazing, but my NecD bottles are throwing up pins!

Best way to get spores started if they arent working on lme agar? Brf cakes? Brf agar?
Current pan cake recipes? Im thinking some brf and straw in ziplock containers slighter larger than the normal wide mouth half pints.

Question for you who use LC, want to try my hand at LC, My question is I'm thinking of using grain water instead of distilled water with LME and corn syrup. Should I dilute the grain water? I read it could be over nutritious and hinder growth. Thoughts?

Hey Gang
I apologize if there is an obvious answer to this question and I should UTFSE! However, I figured the question is unique enough that it might not be spelled out in TEKs.
Can you pasteurize Hpoo TOO long?
Iβve got a Sous Vide working on my HPoo at 165 F (73.5 C) and Iβll be doing chores off and on throughout the day so I just set it to run for 12 hours. More than necessary - but can it hurt?
Thanking you in advance for sharing your experience and knowledge.

12 hrs is absolutely OK.

Dilute it at least 1:3 GW:H2O, could even go lower but play around with it and see what you like.

I'm sure you can - to the point where it might mostly be sterilized, but JOC pasteurizes 8-12 hours @ 165 as his normal routine. I did that for a long time and now do 2 hours core @ 165. Both work fine. As part of my trich experiment findings, I recently did 140 core for 2 hours and ended up getting contamination. It wasn't trich though! But it was another kind of mold that must be more heat tolerant than trich. So I'm going back to my old standby of 2-12 hours @ 165F.
The concern with going too long is you kill off too many beneficial bacteria but those things love heat and a compost heat in the most optimal of conditions sits at 170-180F so I don't think long duration at temps below that will cause any issues for our purposes.
@Murphy07 - While you can use grain water for LC, I don't like it because it is cloudy and for me one of the most important aspects of LC is the ability to detect bacterial contamination. You lose that with Grain water LC.

Thank you Baba Yaga and Hindsight That was my intuition .
Probably wise with a big bag to ensure the core has reached the right temp for long enough too.

Hey man, thanks for the advice! Tbh I was trying to skimp because (a) I thought it would be loud and (b) the JCM dude used like 2x 250GPH pumps which seemed like a lot. But if youβre getting away with that pump then it sounds like Iβm in business!
Awesome. Thanks again.
