Yeah,... First time with this strain. So I just think there are alot of different strains in there which makes it look kinda funky^^

I could be mistaking though xD

It should look like this:

You could be right about what you are seeing being due to different cultures all climbing over one another, but it could also be due to contamination. You are rolling the dice if you send it and that means wasted time and materials. I would transfer until you get something more organized. I'm not in the camp of taking transfers to the extreme. I can't remember the last time I got to T3 and even T2 is only like 5-10% of my plates - I almost always send T1. It's ok if you see sectoring, but it should look more clean and organized.

I would think that even a large amount of strains should be able to work together and form a somewhat organized colony. Also, there seems to be some bluing in the center of the dish. I have seen it on agar before but not until the plate was 100% and I’m also doubtful that culture was clean. I’m not very experienced with pans though so hopefully someone can chime in on that.

Hindsight beat me to it.

Well I'm rolling the dice on this one yes. But I have a backup dish ;-) where I will make a new transfer from to get a cleaner culture ^^

Tbh, I also just wanted to get some petri dishes empty because I ran out xD

The bispo thought looks perfectly fine to me on the other hand. So there I am quite sure I'm not rolling the dice ^^ We will see.

I have so many questions about your process.

Are you using a SAB or a flowhood?

What's your process for sterilizing your water and syringe / needle?

What do you use for your agar plates? (Jars; Pastyplates; Condiment Cups; Petri Dishes?)

What kind of grain jar lids are you using?

How do you inoculate your jars?

Have you tried skipping the water and using direct agar wedge to grain inoculation?

What is your sterilization technique for your grain?

I'm pretty sterile. I use a SAB. Alcohol with a little soapy water. Gloves. I use boiled water. Flame sterilize my needle with a shot glass alcohol burn outside the SAB.  I use condiment cups for plates. Cheap and easy. I PC my grain for a couple hours. I think I'm actually going to try not adding water and drop straight agar from the plate instead of making a slurry.
I just use silicone injection Port for my jars to squirt the slurry in. I appreciate you asking.... Sometimes it's just good to review... I'm trying to cover the bases. Haha. Happy Thursday ya panhead you. šŸ˜ŽāœŒļø

I'm pretty new here, and so I'm partially celebrating my first really successful pan cyan flush. But I think I have something to add to the conversation because I haven't seen many fruiting photos from this variety.

This is my first flush from a TTBVI print I got from GordoTEK. I used his method for growing pans in a Martha tent on a straw/manure/verm sub with a peat/verm/lime casing layer.  I harvested at this point because I was concerned about the caps with spots particularly along one edge of the tray and wanted to grab what I could if that was from a contam that might spread to the other fruits.

I spawned this bispo (that funky dried looking Jar) on the 29th, so 5 days ago and it's just speeding through the substrade (1:2 ratio).

Think I am going to case it this evening or tomorrow morning.

Ah ok, this photo was hiding in examine's user gallery.

This is a different tray though I think so not sure if they are even referring to this.

Anyway, that is definitely contamination. No clue what it is and everyone's process is different so one can only guess when it's getting in.
For me this type of contam is mostly culture based and I go back to spores or germ plate.

Your right Baba. I read his post again  an saw that it's was the spots on the caps that concerned him. And as you just told those craks comes from drying.

Cross post from BabyYaga's mono thread:

Tubs are much slower than the tent, this took 8 days from first pins. I harvested a bit early but loved the uniformity of the fruits! About 6 inches in height.

3-4 days in the tent! However, I was gone the first 5 days of this tub and once I started misting it heavily twice a day it really took off, so I wonder if it was waiting for me to excessively water it.
