Maybe it's because of the bottles? :3

I have considered old dirty pop bottle domes as a possible vector

I see this as well in a few grows and think it's riding along in the culture as it usually turns up in a batch but haven't put much energy into investigating this.
Sorry for your loss.

Do you have any suspicion as to what it might be? I'm thinking vert cause it would seem to also explain the weird ESS I've been getting with no gills and shit

I don't know what it actually is, vert, fusarium, trich are all possible candidates IMO. I can only guess.

I think we can rule out trich, I'd expect it to be eating the fruit from the bottom up(as I've seen it do to my first cyan attempt). Plus, it surely would have sporulated by now
Fusarium is something I hadn't considered but a definite possibility. I'll read up on it a bit more, thank you.

finally these bisporus boxes are pinning, maybe about 10 days after casing. Made a few different subs (hpoo/coir, bagged cow compost/coir, and coir only) and the bagged cow compost/manure is the first to pin.

Nice stagger! What are your current fruiting temps if you donβt mind sharing? Iβm around the same timeframe with bisporus and thinking my low 60s temps is slowing it down a bit.

temperature swings have stalled more than few for me, I've been situated a bit better lately and can steadily keep this room between 70-73.

For some reason I thought bisporus was a cooler weather species but I think I got my species switched up. Thanks for the info.

Do you think bigger (wider, taller) or smaller (thinner, shorter) containers effect yield? Sorry if this is a dumb question!
I think hunting down a good strain is the main thing. Once you got good genetic material you can throw anything at it and it will fruit regardless.

Baba..... dude that's just fuckin insanely cool!!! These mushrooms are pretty damn resilient! Thanks for sharing all of your tips tricks and ideas. Happy hump day to all of you panheads out there!!! I trashed my grain. It turned ugly. Went back to a nice agar plate of the bis and I put a little sterile water in a syringe and mixed it up in the plate and put a couple squirts into 4 new jars. Hurry up and wait now. Haha Nexxxxttttttt!! πβοΈ

I have so many questions about your process.
Are you using a SAB or a flowhood?
What's your process for sterilizing your water and syringe / needle?
What do you use for your agar plates? (Jars; Pastyplates; Condiment Cups; Petri Dishes?)
What kind of grain jar lids are you using?
How do you inoculate your jars?
Have you tried skipping the water and using direct agar wedge to grain inoculation?
What is your sterilization technique for your grain?

spawned my first bootboxes of Pans (Bunnel) ever yesterday, kinda excited to see if I get anything out of them or if they'll tank on me.... used the sous vide to pasteurize field aged cow poo mix with a lil straw and verm, now I wait twiddling my thumbs in anticipation

I definitely confused it with a different species. Way too far along to turn back now. Next fall/winter Iβll be sure to double check the grow season before streaking plates for a cool weather grow Thanks again, stagger.

Thereβs definitely something off in that. My WC were very uniform and fluffy if I recall correctly. Bisporus looks better but possibly something underneath it as well.
