Most likely Aspergillus flavus. Bad shit.
Where did you get these containers? Looks super useful for cakes but I wasn't able to find any, literally anywhere.
I bought them at 2 different $-stores and also at a Kmart 5-6 years ago. They were available for about a year and then disappeared. The other week though I found some very similar, maybe even identical containers a $-store.

Not sure we have such a thing as a $-store here in Europe. I kinda doubt it. It's been a struggle to even find wide-mouth glass jars locally.

Yeah, $-stores is the generic name for random cheap stores stuffed with low end products from China.

Hi all.
I have been thinking about ways to make growing pans even more low tek and low touch.
I experimented with cotton string as a wick to draw water as needed into the casing or the surface of the substrate.
Here are my results:
Pan Cambo Sandose (cloned from a fruit which fruited on agar):
I lay out the strings after full colonisation and then cased it 2 days later with 50/50 peat verm mix with powdered eggshells I added extra strings to it before I cased it
Pan NecD (blind sector):

Cased with the same mix above and then lay strings on top The NecD seems a bit slower than the cambos
For these 2 tubs, I have not misted since seeing pins. I don't think i even needed to mist ever to be honest. The casing always seemed well hydrated. Just plain tap water in the bowls. Both tubs were grain to bulk(straw/poo) on 19/12/22 It is summer here and I just leave the lid cracked with an air purifier in the room and the window a bit open. The box is a 10L/10.5qt Storage tub from officeworks with 36 5mm holes drilled into it.
This is my first successful pan grow excluding pan cambo which fruits pretty easily ime.
I hope this alternative method of fruiting inspires more experimentation and helps someone start their pan journey. I will post updates on the necd tub as it has only started fruiting.
Oh, and make sure the strings on the casing are above the water line, or you will end up siphoning the water out of the bowl.

Keep up on trying the martha baba Yaga was kind enough to help me with one of his fantastic prints, but it still took a lot of trial and error to do it. I donβt know if you have seen my post, but this is what I did.
So I am running pans out of my Martha, but I could never get the humidity. Just perfect because if you get water droplets on the mushrooms, they abort, and if they dry too much, they wonβt get past the pinning stage.
So i use the square aluminum pans for the substrate, and then I use a wider rectangle to keep excess water from them, but to keep them constantly and a high humidity Below is what I have my timer set for the humidifier

You can see the evaporation pattern circled in red, but you can also see how moisture the air is as condensation on the lid This is the progress of the latest two containers Iβve started

Very inspiring material in here! I had βcopelandiasβ when they were still called that in Amsterdam in the early 2000s and I have never been able to get anywhere close to that experience with cubes. Not just in regards to strength but also the βmagicβ.
Iβm now learning how to grow and of course my ultimate goal is to get some Pans going.
Sorry if this has been covered but rather than a Martha, has anyone ever tried growing these in a regular 2x2 or 2x4 grow tent with a shelf in there? Iβd like to set one up for gourmets and would be nice if I could use it to attempt Pans too.

It can absolutely be done. I used one side of a 4' x 8' grow tent. My setup was a little different, but still cycled a fogger / evaporative cycle repeatedly. The other half housed a shelf unit and held any spawn jars or spawned bulk trays while they colonized, and the entire tent was kept in the upper 70s.
I could have accomplished better yields if I had cleaner spawn back then, but here's a pic:

I'm trying to get back to this, but I still hope to fulfill my goal of having 8 trays in full glory one day. Welcome to the Shroomery and the Pan Thread!

Thank you very much for your reply ruawakeyet.
Lovely looking Pans! From that pic it looks like they are in some kind of paddling pool type setup similar to Gordo tek? Sorry if Iβm making an incorrect assumption - Iβve been doing a lot of research but Iβm still green as hell.

I just had my first pins pop up in a regular grow tent within 24 hours of casing. 6 minutes on, 20 off. Id like to be more pan specific but I have gourmets in there.

That sounds promising cooleko. It would be awesome to see or hear about your end results if possible. This is the kind of thing I was wanting to do.
Although I would love to do the regular grow tent, I also donβt want to make things more difficult for myself so Iβm trying to assess whether to go with the regular grow tent or set up a Martha to begin with.

First tray of pans since rebuilding my grow area after fungus gnat infestation. This is BVI from MS, first flush. I'm going to be doing a print give-away in the marketplace soon but I really want the prints to go to people who will actually grow them.

I have yet to try them but I gave some to two of my friends last summer. They took 2g each and said they were much more potent than other pans I had given them. Not as potent as semps though. I don't think semps have been tested yet.
