Lets say I was interested in branching out from cubes.  What variety of pan would you recommend?

Same sorta situation as beef here, except I'm just wondering if there's a shitless way to grow pans.

--------------------
If you've never grown mushrooms before, here's how you start.  First, follow the Updated PF Tek, put 4 holes in jar lids not 1, and use a water tub!
The next move is Shoebox Tek. After that you move onto grains, agar, monotubs.  Agar is easy, just do it.

Watched a long video of Gordo's yesterday, he went on about manure not really being needed quite a bit, and was adamant we'd be able to simply use straw or straw pellets instead. Says that they are not really dung lovers but grass lovers, that's what ruminant animal dung is anyway right

But of course if you have to pasteurize everything anyway because it's straw, then there is little difference in workup if you add some manure to the bag when you are forced to pasteurize anyway

moving into Pans myself, can tell this is going to be somewhat of a challenge coming from cubes but they tell me the rewards are large and well worth any added fuckery. It's exciting but I am honestly unsure if I can provide the right setup currently, hope to come back and join you guys soon. I have some Bisporus and Jamaica on grain already, but not very far along. Gonna streak up a bunch of various Pans today for LAGM

Hey newby by a long shot but if you had a small chunk of pan mycellium with a couple of pins and a spare cow pat both found quite locally to you could you put it in a patch of grass in your garden and water it / just let it be

Cross post from Baba’s Pans in Monos thread:

So I harvested my Estero tub last night and got a few stragglers this morning, it was at 1:3 50/50 HP compost/CV and this time for the first time I used 2qt of spawn in a 32L EZ dial.

I forgot to take a final picture of the tub

Here is a pic of last nights harvest

I pulled another 44g’s this morning giving me a grand total of 300.4g wet (so 150g per qt). This was another MS grow but I now have some clones to play with.

Will update with dry weight tomorrow!

Definitely Bisporus. Beautiful, rewarding, perfect for outdoor growing and amazing effects. Also very powerful mycelium that can plow through mold like no big deal.

Those in the middle kind of look like the Plutonians from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, only they are the wrong color.

In all honesty, I have no idea. I'm not sure those are even Pans...

Bad news, they aren't Pans. Maybe Oysters.

I've never seen oyster pins in a severely restricted air environment, but they don't even look like oysters to me.

Here are some young oysters I currently have growing:

And a very young cluster forming: (have to zoom in to even see them)

Well shite. If that's true either I put the wrong LC to my plates or my original print was sent to me incorrectly. bummer. I guess in a few days I'll know more...
I have some oyster myc on some other plates, and this stuff grew like pan myc at every step of the way. So I'm a bit baffled. Could it it just be lack of FAE?
