Tried what? Dubtubs? I've never tried them before. I used to dream about building one and having tons of mushrooms growing into the "tub ceiling" lol Ive never taken the initiative to build one though.
I have used Minimonos for cubes, never Panaeolus....not yet atleast.
trays/lidless totes have peaked my interest as of late.. might dwell on them for awhile.
&& I agree. He should grow them out. (no need to separate, if one is bad they are likely all bad, since they're all made from the same LI)

Yeah my first couple of cube grows were all 6 qt dub tubs and I've had 3-4 flushes off each one. I might wanna try it for pans.
Mini monos seem ideal for pans, just need to keep the sub depth at 3" or less, I heard pans don't like thicker subs for some reason.
And with trays, do you think it's necessary to prop it up off the perlite so air flow is consistent throughout the tub?
I mean if you have like 3 trays that fill up the SGFC, then the perlite underneath can't really do its job.

Go for it!! :)
3" for pans is too much! Stick with 2-2.5".. Even 2.5" is pushin' it.
Yeah, with perlite you want as much of the surface exposed. It helps keep your RH consistant.
I would use the rings from some jars you arent using or somthing of the sort
If your 3 trays can't fit into the FC, then you need a bigger FC. Or split it into two FC's

After you make the LI you can drain off the excess water, and spawn that jar to bulk in a mini mono, or tray.

Or, you can drain it in an SAB, seal, then let it recolonize.. You'll be able to make more LI, atleast another 2 pulls from it if your technique is on lock.

at first i considered trays but i have these little tiny 7.2qt tubs. im not doin anything with em and my sgfc is gonna be filled with cakes. i figured i could use a drop of that LI to make a master slant for the fridge as well. just in case.
