Yeah, I have mixed results with the new genetics. I didn't transfer many parallel lines of genetics. So far this is my experience with the cultures I ran: Nec-D fruited nicely and gave mid range sized fruits both MS and clone. Jambos were growing insanely tall and meaty but not a lot of them, only ran MS so far and the clone is on grain now. Wild coast fruited alright but the fruits were deformed to various degrees and smallish both MS and clone. Suphan Buri MS was a dud with only a few fruits, the first clone tub is colonizing.
got 10 more jars and then I will probably will in terms on Pans. I have to concentrate on semilanceata culture work and will also do a few tubs of AA+ just to watch them grow.
Keep the aquarium heater and rest of the JCM setup, it is a useful tool. Do it both ways side by side if you have the space.
As if Pan's aren't challenging enough - semilanceata, that would be awesome! ...
Maybe I will continue with the Aquarium set up, since it's proven to at least produce something. I have a jar of Jambo that looks like it's ready to go so that will be my next attempt. I'm going to go back to your original monotub thread and research how exactly to go about it. probably try a tandem JCM and mono with that as you suggested. Maybe I can get a hold of some Nec-D soon, since you seem to be having success with it.
thanks YAGA

How about trying an EZ Dial? The holes may be enough to offset the condensation.

3 months after that last crop aborted I finally got some growing again…

What a long journey to get these. My spore swab was plated 9 months ago! I have 2 more cups pinning. There are still others that I’m watching. Hope to do some cloning after the house guests leave. I haven’t gone without all this time. Cubes have kept me comfortable.

How did you achieve fruiting conditions with these?

Pasteurized Jiffy casing. Lid completely loose, still on top of the cup. Small water tub. Room for about 10 cups. When they grew tall enough to reach the lid I placed sandwich bags over them. There's an infrared heater lamp set to 74 degrees Fahrenheit, about 2' away. I turn the tub twice a day to keep the heat and natural lighting evenly distributed. I'm hoping they taste better than cubes. If not they will go into a teabag and I steep it in espresso.

Top mushrooms in first photo are likely Panaeolus papilionaceus judging by the veil remnants on the cap margin.
Are any of those bruising?

Are you referring to the second picture? In the second picture there's a group of mottlegills yes which I did not harvest. All other ones were picked and bruised blue.

Hi Myc Hunt, There are 1/4 inch holes drilled in the clear plasic lid that I think is similar to EZ dial if that's what you mean, like so
Since the temp varies inside and outside usually from 75F(outside) to 80F(inside) / the humidity is 95+ / and a lot of air moving in from the pumps / it naturally creates heavy condensation, even with holes.
No huge issue, I'll probably make a slanted roof, or might put slanted tents around the containers which I'm thinking might make an even better micro-climate provided the FAE remains sufficient. 99.99's post makes me think there may be an advantage to a humidity chamber within a humidity chamber

Once again I appreciate all the knowledge and experience being shared here. It's phenomenal and I just love it. I'd leave them to open a bit more than this for printing. Other than that, looks good! I like the chonkiness.

Hopefully that makes them easier to clone!
Stipes are fat and fruits are shorter on the gordotek grow of the same LC. Pins are sparse.

Merry Christmas!

“OH YEAHHH!”
I went out of town during this bomb cyclone for Christmas yesterday for 24 hours. To regulate temp I put a space heater on an ink bird temp controller. Well, my dumbass forgot to unplug the other heater in the room and temps were at 87 in my Martha when I got home and 97 % rH. My beautiful pans that were looking promising are a bit more shriveled today from the heat ans the casing looks parched.
Do you think I should just cut the mushrooms down and heavy mist the casing and hope for better on the next flush?
Do you think I fried my pans enough to ruin the trays if it maintained 87 F for 12 hours?
