WPoo? What is that, wombat poo?
When I keep reading tube instead of tub, I can't help but imagine someone growing mushrooms in a giant gerbil city of connecting tubes. As if the mushrooms themselves can run around like little rodents.

District said: Well six days in and no primordia. Im going to increase the fan speed a couple notches for fae and supplement with spraying the casing daily.
I figured it is fae cuz I have an oyster that is fruiting (I grow in the balcony) so I put it in the Martha and saw this morning it was getting long necked.
I would suggest more patience. Pans can take up to 14, sometimes even 21 days to pin. How long they take can depend on many factors including your spawn ratio, temps (higher is better for fruiting), hydration, the culture itself, evaporation/moisturizing cycles, and how long the substrate was allowed to consolidate prior to placing in the tent. My tent is dialed in and it still takes 9 to 14 days on average to see pins. Sometimes I get them as soon as 3-4 days but that is the exception to the rule.
One thing mushrooms in general don't like is constant changes. They like to be left alone. New growers get very excited and impatient and want to push buttons and pull levers but you have to resist this urge. If your surface conditions are good then you should leave it alone. You can read here about how I set my cycles to promote the best surface conditions, and how I evaluate surface conditions: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27993602
I would not suggest running your small computer fan constantly. That is going to dry out your tent too much by pulling too much dry room-air into the tent. Pans love FAE but in the case of my tent, for example, I have the fogger run for 3 mins every 14 mins, then 1 minute of venting, then 10 mins of rest. This means the tent is only getting 4 minutes of FAE every 14 minutes. That is MORE than enough. The mycelium and fruits in your tent aren't dumping out so much Co2 that your tent is becoming saturated in an hour or so. Bottom line is with tent grows, you really don't need to worry about FAE as you'll get more than you need just from your humidification cycles.

The straight fibers on the stipes are interesting. Other Pans have them twisting.

These are what everyone calls Jambos, got them from PsiloPsychin.

Haven't come across twisted lines/stems yet, will keep an eye out though.

Hey Goat.... Thanks again!!! I appreciate you sharing this with me man!! 💯
Everybody that chimed in on the agar thanks very much! I did like 50/50 grain water regular water 500ml total. 5ish grams of agar powder. PC'd that and my grain for 2 hours. I streaked ten plates with mystery African today. We'll see what happens. Hurry up and wait!!! I've never really kept grain after PC... They should be ok while waiting for the agar right? If not I'll redo the jars! Happy Monday friends and neighbors. All you fuckin panheads are pretty cool!!! If this grain works I'm gonna try a little coir in my tub to make it fluffier. C'mon pans!!!!!!!! Go go gadget shroomery!!!

I've got temps like 80 degrees in the room. What time frame am I looking at for these plates? I've never been able to get pans to pop on plates before so I'm more nervous than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs!!! I appreciate all you panheads out there!! The information y'all have provided on this thread alone is invaluable!! Happy Tuesday friends and neighbors!! 😎✌️

I've seen pans germinate in under 2 days, but usually by the third day. When my Alabamas didn't germ in that time frame, I left them to go but they were dead.

Second flush Australian RDU coming in decent. Very happy with the new spawn situation, definitely noticing a difference in second flush fruits, hopefully they keep chugging away.

Trying to figure out if I'm specifically doing something wrong. I spawned a whole quart jar of Pan Cyan Hawaiian grain spawn on oats to a 40/40/20 ChickenPoo/Coir/verm bulk substrate.
Does my sub look too wet/dry?
This is my second attempt. Last one didn't grow at all in bulk sub, but thankfully I live in good outdoor conditions for this species and I tossed a contaminated jar under the same 40/40/20 mix on grass and it grew a couple specimens I was able to pull spores off of.
The last pic is of the grain spawn shortly before I spawned to the tray in the pics.
Been 4 days so far with zero visible growth on top layer.
Unless my strains are just speedy on grain and shit on chicken shit. Only other thing I can think of is I need to replace my chicken shit for cow.

I would either cut back on the chicken manure ratio, (it's aged, right?), or switch to aged cow or horse manure. If it's not growing into it at all, the moisture level isn't the problem, as it looks to be within range.
Are you using agar?
I would totally be doing an outdoor bed of pans if I lived where you live! Welcome to the Shroomery!

The chicken manure will literally fry the mycelium. Too high in nitrogen/phosporus.
Theres a reason why it's not really used. Like the guy above says......aged horse manure is best, or the most readily available. swap that over and you will see better results.

^^^^ What they said, that is too much chicken manure, 5-10% would be better or compost it before use. Cow or horse manure is the better choice.

Ahh okay. I must have gotten confused from the GordoTek. https://www.patreon.com/posts/44645256 He mentions that some people have used chicken poo with success, but doesn't go into detail. I honestly don't know if it's aged, but it is dehydrated pellets from local chicken farms. But thanks guys, I'll try to find some cow poo. The bad part about where I live is it's a little harder to get cow shit in the middle of the pacific ocean! Maybe I can get some carabao poo from a local farm.
On the light side, here's the outdoor patch now . It grew some super skinny shroomies whose caps seemed like they had exploded under the rain. How long do you think till these ones are ready? These pins look thicker. Just took this pic at 2000 my time.

I tried to start with agar from spore syringe but nothing ever grew, I didn't want the syringe to go bad so I figured I'd just try to go from grain to agar. This is from the same jar pic from before. Not sure if all of this is good or if I need to isolate still. Was gonna try to figure it out this weekend.

I was worried about that lmao. It's weird cause the ones before this were much skinnier, thin white with thick black spores.
I was gonna ask for an ID before I decided to eat this tho. Sad panda. We'll see what they are! At least I'm still farming a mushroom lol.
