Having a question about RDU. How would you describe the growth/pinning speed of these AND are they cyans or trops?
Just can't figure out if my RDU tubs here are alright as they are chewing slowly through the top layer, never seen anything like this happening but then again, the spores I used were smeared with a swab onto a piece of paper and there weren't many coming off when I swabbed them. Growth was so light and fluffy on agar and in LC that I went back to spores a second time just to make sure that this is what they look like but it's not unheard off to germinate mold twice in a row. We will know by the end of the week I assume.
From my very limited experience I'd say from fastest to slowest, and I'm absolutely generalising things here, that cambos are the fastes to fruit followed by cyans and then trops?
After the setback from bad coir workflow is getting back to normal and spawn and tubs are finishing of like a clockwork again. The 4 Jambo tubs are doing good by the looks of it. They are all a couple of days apart and the one furthest is knotting up nicely.
Jambo MS, coir/H-manure 75/50, 1:3 ratio, Fruited@Spawn, uncased, 10 days after spawn.

The gnarly Wild Coast clones on water agar 3 days after drop.

A friend of mine regularly takes 2.2 to 2.5 of pans. I take 0.5 at first and then add another 0.5 an hour and a half in if I'm feeling it. I am more sensitive to it than most though. 0.5 can be really, really nice. It does vary substantially by variety though. Peace River vs BVI were night and day different.Quote:

Hahaha. So I havenโt even done over 500mg yet. When I say Iโm a newbie, Iโm a newbie.
I donโt know what a โstandardโ dose is soโฆ
Good to hear on the weight! Thanks guys for all the input and help along the way.

Make sure you don't miss the contribution V.L. made earlier in this thread regarding the latest testing of some active mushrooms. The BVI sample that Gordo Tek submitted returned the highest numbers ever seen!

Yeah see V.L.'s note, as ruawakeyet mentioned. BVI is strong. I have not tried it myself - gave it to two close friends who are very experienced. They took 2 or 2.2 grams each and it was TOUGH. They said it was the most difficult ramp-up they've ever had (until I gave one of them subtropicalis recently). They couldn't see when it kicked in - said it was like looking through a kaleidoscope to the point that they couldn't comprehend anything and they were very confused and a bit stressed out by it. Just a lot to handle. They tried some music but ultimately couldn't find anything that they liked so had to turn it off. Past the half-way point it was enjoyable and they had some extremely deep and tough conversations about life traumas and fears while I was at the grocery store picking up food to cook for all of us to finish their trip off. Overall they were glad they did it but said they would take less next time. Oddly enough, the same people said the Rancho I grew felt very similar - tough to handle, but they said the visuals were different on it. I know VL has a Rancho culture so I would love to see his friend test the rancho and Semps against the BVI. Potency aside, there is a lot to be said for other compounds in the mushrooms and how they effect the trip.

From Sporeworks, "The RDU is a spontaneous mutation of the Australian strain of Panaeolus cyanescens, where the typically black spores are instead a reddish-brown."
That picture looks incredible!

Baba here is a little compilation of untypical Pan colors: I observed RDU specimens on 2 different Pan cyan Australia Lineage, on Huasteca and one from a single NecD:
Pan cyan Australia RDU
Pan cyan "Australia redspore"
Pan cyan Huasteca RDU and regular pheno
NecD RDU = RedNec
Also had once Pan cambo Thailand with a strange under cap coloration but not really Red more brownish-gold
Pan cambo Thailand

And some White under cap Huasteca:
Pan cyan Huasteca albinos

Thanks a lot V.L., those photos are beautiful!
I really hope I am getting a few fruits out of this culture although it is behaving very strangely.

Those are beautiful and remind me of the white-ish pans I am working on. Did you ever try to isolate those or reproduce them?

Nope as I like printable strains, but maybe I should tried to swabs them to see if they can be reproduced this way..

lol you're a smarter man than me VL..... given my last swab attempts of my white pans has only resulted in the capturing of spores from other things that were floating around in the air currents of my tent

The swabs were F2. I have some F1 "prints" that I've gone back to so the trying continues!!! I say "prints" because they are not visible to the naked eye. If you put some clear tape on them and look at the tape under a microscope you can see spores so they are there, just not a normal heavy print (as expected for gills that look white). The struggle continues.

Been wanting to spawn earlier but today I finally did spawn this bag of Pan Bisporus mycelium that was inoculated with lc Sept 19th. (Sub is 80pct hpoo / 20pct straw, supplemented with 9 pct grains).

Spawned to mono and cased with peat/verm/caco3
