I'm a big advocate of going to grain as soon as you have clean myc. I'd put both of those to grain.

Thanks alot for the response <3 really appreciate it! Well, I will just take from the first dish a small transfer and will put the rest to grain.
Thought of using a LC, for the inoculation. Or should I just keep it simple an do agar to grain?

Personally, I only use LCs if I want to expand a known culture, or if I have a lot of grain to inoculate with only one type. I haven't used a LC for any of my pan grows yet, I've just used A2G.
I don't think there is any wrong answer, it's all personal preference.

Good point. Thanks ruawakeyet!
Personally, I am not yet so used to LC so I prefer A2G actually
Thanks for all the help guys, really love you all <3

a bit late but
Go with whatever floats your boat and what you are comfortable with, starting a new species and changing to an unfamiliar inoculation method is counterproductive IMHO. You want to be sure that your spawn is good or you open the door to unnecessary speculations.
Looking good enough to give those plates a shot. Taking a couple of transfers beforehand is a good move so can keep that culture going to work on it in case your grain isn't working out for whatever reason and you can go back to it if your clones suck.

Yeah, I can experiment first with some cubes and LC and with the pans I float my boat with A2G You have a good point there Baba

Woah very cool VL!!!!! Congrats! I am not surprised BVI is the strongest. I haven't tried them myself yet but gave them to a couple friends who tripped really hard on them. I would love to see BVI tested against Subtropicalis! I feel those are more potent than Pan Cyans. Thanks for your contributions and spore spreading!

Canβt wait to see your results! And how long they will take to fruit between your hands... for me they had a very aggressive myc and fast colonization but fruiting was even longer than bispo.

I will absolutely post results! I went from agar to SSLC and they grew quickly in that. My recent grain jars are colonizing quite quickly with the SSLC inoculation so hope to be on a fast-track for these. I'll now know to be patient on the fruiting....

my Pan bisporus germinated!

first Pan attempt. Iβll share pics in a couple days when my camera can focus on something so small. Myc definitely catches the light IRL.

20 grams of dry pans is a pretty solid trip. What kind of party are you planning?

My recent pans may have been waterlogged but they dried down to about 5% their wet weight.
Congrats on the harvest!

Throughout this thread, I've seen anywhere from 6% to 9% for dry pan weight compared to fresh, so that's not uncommon. I'm guessing it's because they like it so much wetter than cubes. I certainly haven't seen a full 10% from any of my pan grows.

IME Cyans have 10% dry mass, but other Pans are less. Bisporus is frequently around 7%.
