There were probably more tamp spores on those gills than pan spores. That being said, I did grow out several cakes for this generation, all from different MS plate transfers so I am hoping one or more of the other cakes will produce the pans. A couple are in the tent now and another one or two are still in the jar colonizing. Fingers crossed.
Ah, I do remember reading about that now you mention it. Oh fuck yeah, white pans would be epic!

I have a fetish of always smelling my jars after shaking, right before I spawn them. This little life hack helps you identify certain mislabels well before fruiting time.

That is a good idea. These were cakes not jars but could still be smelled if I was paying attention I'm sure!

Shameless X-post.
Final flush before The Green Reaper finally decimated the substrate completely. This grow has been amazing. The total dry weight came in at 5.2g from cca 500ml of substrate. Which is mindblowing. That's probably more than all of my previous indoor and outdoor attempts COMBINED.
Also note, the bulk sub had grey mold at spawning, which the Bisporus had to fight off. And there's been a mild gnat infestation almost constantly, which I'm sure helped The Green Reaper finally take hold. In any case, they resisted incredibly well. When I dumped the cake today, I've noticed the bottom 2/3, if not 3/4 of the sub were absolutely infested with green! And the fruits were still growing and maturing when I harvested them in the morning. Unbelievably tough fungus!

I have basically given up on gnats. I don't have them bad but it's impossible to get rid of them. I'm able to keep their numbers down and feel that a few of them don't seem to negatively impact my grows that I can tell.

2nd grow. I have mastered the Jellyfish Tek. π
This is my last multi-spore grow. Everything from here on our were isolated on agar. Still lots of fruits and I am not worried about contamination this time. This seems to be some phenotype that can pop up in these and other breeds.
Weβll see how the isolated ones after this do.
Question, some of these mushrooms seem ready to harvest. Should I harvest the bigger ones and let the others continue or should you do them at the same time??

Awesome yields, Max! I bet your pheno is caused by the genetics. Try some other ones and I'm sure you'll get some more natural-looking Pans.

Iβm going small scale to! Agar primordia pin cloned on agar, and transferred to βPoo-garβ.
Iβm hoping for full mini fruits to clone an get clean spores maybe with this recipe.
Just exploring small scale ways to get clones, itβs what I do with cubes.

Brother how the hell are you getting these two grown like this!?!? It's awesome!
Just fruited with a baggy on top and switched to soda bottle once they got to big to safely take off the bag. The secret it to wait long enough. ^^^This one was ~6 weeks before it pinned and the one below took about 4 weeks. It's mostly straw, coir, H-manure and wheat bran packed very loosely, the dry sub didn't weigh much. Poured some LC and waited. Was planning to have these as a short cut to some clone material but they took much longer to colonize and fruit than I thought so ended up doing regular tubs instead to get clones.

Very cool man!!! Thanks for the heads up! I got some prints from a fellow panhead and I'm very thankful.
I still haven't gotten any pans to do anything! I went through 20 plates with zero! I nocced another couple plates with cubes straight from the print the same way with my loop. They sprouted fine. I did swab the mystery pan and make a syringe and popped a few little half pint jars. We'll see what happens! Hurry up and wait!! Thanks again for all your knowledge and ideas that y'all share!! Happy Wednesday/Thursday!! When using a syringe I know it takes longer than agar drop. What's the fastest/slowest it's ever take (other than not at all!!lol) I'm using oats for grain.50lbs for under $30. Happy fruits to you panhandling fools you!!!πβοΈ

I can't tell you. My brain is super confused by mutant varieties that don't have the "typical mature mushroom" characteristics. But my wild guess is - harvest them when they stop getting any taller.

Right on, 320g is a nice pile of pans
When I weigh it against what I have put in then I consider 300-400g first flush per quart of spawn as very good when growing in tubs.

Maybe my question is better asked here^^
Any suggestions on what to transfer from the second picture? It's T1, not sure if I should go T2 or just spawn this and take then a clone. Sorry if it may be a stupid question, first try with the pans

Wait until you hear back from others, but I want to test myself here...
On the plate in the second picture, I would take anywhere from the 6 o'clock to 7 o'clock position, only because it looks to be the fastest.
It might be ok to take them to grain, but I do try to wait until I see uniform growth.
