What have you guys found to be the best way to harvest when you get a “canopy”-like coverage.
Thoughts? Think the fruits are still safe?
I've used scissors to cut the stipes above the casing layer. I lose some butt of the fruits, but it helps keep my casing layer intact. They are kind of a pain no matter what you do. This is exactly why size is my goal when growing pans, to make harvesting easier, and they're easier to handle loading and unloading the dehydrator, and to get them into the final storage container.
I think those are safe to eat. Congrats, even if it didn't turn out exactly as you hoped. You still got a LOT of them! Sorry again for questioning the pins a few days back. I knew something was off on the bottom of the caps, but I learned something from your grow.

I also cut them the same way. The butts just turn to mycelium, no big deal at all.

Brother, no apologies necessary. You were dead-on. You and Baba both identified something wasn’t quite right.

Hey mate, why have you deleted all the photos? Now the information and help we have given you is useless for other folks who are looking for answers to similar problems. If you keep deleting your photos then I will stop helping with your problems. I don't mind if you delete the pics after a year or so but please leave them up for a good while so others have a chance to learn from this as well. That is the price for free help and I'm sure anyone who took part in helping you out will agree with that.

I realized I never caught up on the parts of this thread I missed over the summer, so I went back around 6 months ago last night and have been reading everything I missed.
I noticed at least 2 other Estero grows that exhibited the same jellyfish look. I started to think maybe it just looks like that, until I saw a photo of Estero that looked normal. I couldn't find a single cap that was balled up, they all flattened out real nice. (And yes, I agree with Baba, that is the importance of leaving photos up. You know, for science!)
I wanted to add this to confirm Baba's suspicion, and to let PanMax know that it probably wasn't anything he did wrong. I've read about lines of genetics that get tangled up with some kind of contam, and I wonder if that has happened with the Estero. (Wasn't the tropicalis from SW known to be permanently contaminated with something years ago?)
I'm glad to see you have such a good attitude PanMax. Even with some questionable spores, you pulled off some killer flushes, and I have no doubt you will continue to do some great work here! I hope you didn't delete the photos because you're ashamed of them! I don't think there is anything to be ashamed of.
Last thing, I have to applaud the patience some of you have shown helping some growers. I lost my cool with a guy last year, because I literally was convinced he was trolling us on purpose. (I also resented being told I was gatekeeping information. I answered multiple questions that guy asked, and he would just find a new way of asking the same thing and distort something else.)
Now that I'm reading what I missed, last summer was kind of a shit show of newbs that didn't seem willing to put in any effort to search or read anything on their own. (Obviously not all the newbs. Some of them showed up with panopies right out the gate! They know who they are!) I think it's a good thing I was taking a break from here back then, because it's annoying even 5 to 6 months after the fact...
I'm really trying to be more like you patient types, so kudos, you all are the best!

Yah man, I had no idea deleting photos in the gallery affected the post. I wouldn’t delete them on purpose. I’m just OCD and like to delete shit I don’t need anymore. For my first attempt ever, I was pretty happy. It was 10g dry.
So do you think it was a bad genome, issue being a mixed culture, or some bacterial infection that didn’t really “show up.”??
Thanks again for all the help along the way.

Ah yeah, I do know about that urge. Doing a fair share of compulsive upkeep myself
There will be a few opinions around in regards to what causes this. I personally think it is mold related or at least a contam of some sort.

Max, I think it must have been the genetics. My Pans were never distorted like that.
It's a shame I'm not able to grow my Bunnell anymore. My mate also has trouble with them, we both keep getting contams. No idea what happened here. Oh well, at least I can grow Bisporus now. Way more than I could ever consume It may be a bit weaker, but it makes up for it with its gentler effects.

If using a humidifying set-up like Hindsight recommended in his tek, make sure to use ALL the parts he recommended. Including the automatic filler. I have it but haven’t set it up yet.
Here’s a fun fact: How full your container is affects the humidity of your tent, EVEN when everything else is constant. I noticed this yesterday but couldn’t understand why the humidity was staying so high during the rest cycles. I had a theory, so right before bed I filled the container full again. Sure enough, for some reason, when the water container is more full, the tent take longer to dissipate the humidity between cycles. (Blue line on the graph)
An automatic filler would prevent these disparities and keep your tents cycles more consistent.

What are you running as far as cycles for that AC Infinity Tent setup?

Hi all, planning to do a cinema visit with a friend on 0.25gr pan bisporus. What would you recommend as a booster dose after an hour in? I was thinking about an 0,08gr capsule I have laying around.. but I expect it to be too weak to make any impact. (or just take them together and go for a lvl 1 trip? I expect the 0,25 to equal 1gr cubes.. but I know bisporus are wickedly potent, I don't want to overdo it for a cinema visit)

15 on, 30 off. There is an FAE fan that stays on until the humidity goes back down to 85%.
The shorter ON times that Hindsight used do not work for this size tent.

If they're dry, they are not so extremely potent. 0.25g sounds good. I'd forget a booster and just enjoy the ride.

I assume you are running a 2'x4'x6' with a 4" blower fan. Are you running it at around 5 or higher lower? I'm running that set up myself with a cycle of 1.5 mins (HOH 9-Head w/lg HOH fan set to 50%) with the last 0.5 mins overlapped by a three minute run of a 4" blower set to 5 followed by a 25min break. The sensor reads darn near 100% most the time, but when I try to utilize the sensor and adjust settings to get the reading to create those nice peaks and valleys on the app it seems to dry my sub out too quickly.
**EDIT** Ahh.. I see you are running a booster fan on a separate control setting to pull the humidity down in between vent cycles..
