Great growing folks!!! Love seeing all y'alls stuff! Hey Baba.... I ran into a batch of blocks of coir that it seemed no matter what I did I got the fuckin green monster!! (I was using it for cubes though) I used a couple tubs worth and just said forget about it! I gave it to a guy who uses it to grow cannabis in instead! After I got rid of it I rarely had many instances like that again. Kinda strange. I can't wait for the gnats and flies to thin out. It's been a crazy year for the bugs! (But it seemed a good year for the bees as well so happy for that) I hope everyone had a great weekend! Be safe. Be happy! Be kind! Happy Monday!! 😎✌️

Here my first attempt at a bag, I have an impulse sealer now so shud it lol.
It’s Pan. Cint, inoculated with lc, work done in front of a flow hood. 6th transfer from spores.

Do you need gypsum for straw with pans? Does the PH matter?
I’m going to collect some manure an straw tomorrow to pasteurize and do a 1/4 ratio to spawn/sub. I’ll play around with sub recipes and case with jiffy mix after colonization or pins show up.
Someone showed me a link to a pan grow link back in here, I forgot to save. Enjoy the gnarly pics while I look for that link.

IMO, that looks bacterial to me. I hope I'm wrong.
I personally have very little experience with grain bags, but I had a lot of contamination that I think came from pin holes in the bag. I tried some PF style small bags once, and when I went to soak the ones that colonized, most of them leaked water slowly. I know people can use them, I'm not one of them.

I have never used proper manure, but the pelletized shit from the store only needs a bit of leeching. I can't imagine proper manure would be much different. No aging necessary IME. Hell, some Pans may even be able to eat fresh unleeched manure.

They can Adas, a while back I ran some tubs with partially leached manure, shit reaked of ammonia and fish. Spawned it anyways cause some advice I was given at a farm is always say fuck it and see what happens. Got nothing but coprinoids growing for like a week then cyans came up afterwards, as well as tamps.

Crazy! So you've tried this with both Pans and Tamps? Or were the Tamps a wild surprise somehow?

This was early on when I had just started using manure so didn’t leach anything properly, these were separate tubs though, that would of been crazy if I got all three in there! Re reading my post it’s a bit ambiguous..

It's amazing how nature will have its way despite our efforts, isn't it? The inky caps always come first - Pans and other secondary shitlovers come next, after the harmful ammonia is consumed.

Adas, I think you were right about what was growing in my yard.... as they have grown a bit bigger, they do look like bispos, and not tamps or mexicana like I thought they were. I have dumped a number of different things in that spot.

Of course.
Don't ever doubt my active ID skills again
No, seriously, I've grown my fair fuckin share of outdoor Bisporus. I could ID them from half a mile away.

Pretty remarkable, especially considering how young they were. The caps hadn't yet started to develop the distinctive coloring. I read your reply and thought, "Did he just miss the part where I said they were tamps or mex?" and then thought to myself, "Wait a minute - I should go do a second look", went out and sure enough. The larger caps are now showing the color pattern today but I couldn't see it when I took that photo! You are definitely a bispo-hound!
Today's pic. Still can't believe they keep growing when it's SO dry and windy here. I guess the lower temps make up for the lack of humidity and rain.

Hi Scotay,
I honestly can't answer your question, because I've not grown either of them. I've seen pictures of great grows of both, so I don't think you can go wrong with either of them.
Have a great day!!!

Gorgeous flush! And yes, they can grow in pretty dry conditions. All depends on how far below the soil they start pinning. In dry times they pin from further down which may help to protect them from drying out. One time I came home from a 3-day holidays. It last rained like a week ago and after that the temps were approaching 30°C, yet I found beautiful, nicely hydrated Bispo flush in a flowerpot. I was blown away.

35 mushrooms. 1.3g - My biggest Bisporus flush yet. Total yield from the container so far: ~3.5g

The caps looked.. ethereal, for the lack of better words. As I moved them, they seemed to do this light polarizing effect, like reflection from a road, but in black. Coolest mushrooms ever!

Beautiful! For me, Bisporus will be next after attempting Peace River again, I can't wait! I hope to see that same light effect in person!
