I would clone them.

MS uncased Bunnell here is only growing one cluster so far, will definitely get some clones off that if they getting big enough.

My best Bisporus flush ever! 16 fruits at once! Harvested the mature ones. It was as easy as placing the container into a tub of water with holes for air. All of the babying and overcomplicating wasn't necessary. I have another Bisporus container in there now for confirmation that this method does indeed work.

Is this a clone already? Low-tech ftw.

This entire harvest was 6g (wet ofc)

Baba, it's not a clone. I have 3 clones, currently about to fruit the outdoor clone from a flowerpot which pushed out fruits like mad.

Those bispos are picture-perfect! I'm going to have to try some of these low tech pan tubs!

I need to revamp my SAB and get to work before my prints get any older....

I'm really curious what the other container will do tho. That's the vigorous outdoor clone. I've placed it in there right after casing and I don't plan intervening in any way, and just wait. It's colonizing the casing like crazy. We'll see.

Yo ruawake, good to see you!

Will start a few outdoor pots as well. Potting mix at the bottom followed by layer of spawn and h-manure and topped off with more h-manure or a h-manure coir mix.

Thanks both of you. It's good to be back. I put myself in time out until I could behave myself. I blew up on a guy because I just couldn't take his posts anymore. I regret it. I'm sorry to him and everyone else on here.

I still haven't grown anything since my last posts. My stash is lasting a very long time taking microdoses every other day or so, and my method of storing is proving to work great as far as not losing potency. I haven't changed my microdose recipe nor the amount, and they are every bit as strong as before! I just made up a fresh batch 2 weeks ago, so these mushies are around a year old now.

Even though I don't need more, I miss seeing them grow and miss eating them fresh. I don't have a good place to set up my tent again, so I have to go back to the drawing board in terms of fruiting. I want to try an outdoor patch or container, as well as some low tek FCs. I'm seeing people have killer flushes with them, but I would rather get the size that Adas had with those bisporus. I found it difficult to get those real small fuckers all the way to the bag without becoming powder in the process of drying. Not to mention the fact that they are the size of grass clippings when dry, they blow all over the place in my dehydrator!

The other issue that has me wanting to grow again is the fact that my prints are also around a year old now, so I need to freshen up my print stash before it's too late!

What about feeding the flowerpot? I've added chinchilla poop / hemp remains from my daughter cleaning her pets, wondered if I should have only added some hors manure and let that rot. I also wonder if I should scrape away the top layer; I didn't get many fruits maybe because the casing is too thick (50:50)? Or just let it be and see what happens next year.

You guys really feel they are big? This entire harvest was 6g wet. So like 2 good chonky fruits.

Been feeding them grass clippings like crazy. But the myc won't grow into them it seems. It likes more compact substrates. Plus the clippings decay slowly (added some earthworms but it's still gonna be slow). On top of that, they can't fruit through the many layers of grass clippings, unlike inky caps. I guess I'll see in Spring whether any myc survived in there. I'd say it has a fair chance, considering it survived in a strawberry pot before. And that was a different Bisporus culture.

Hey all,

I have clean looking growth of Pan Jam, Pan Australia, and Pan Alabama on agar presently. What is the latest consensus on selecting growth phenotypes for pan cyan strains when transferring to liquid culture? What type of growth am I looking for?

Thx in advance -

Rad

I suggest taking multiple locations of each and do separate LCs, or G2G, or whatever you prefer.

I ended up finding drastic differences depending on the culture, and they all came from the same print. One produced only mutants, a few of them didn't fruit well, some of them stalled on grain or bulk. However, a couple of them performed amazingly! I was able to isolate the cultures down to some large producers, and that is when growing pans became worthwhile for me. I hated trying to dry those tiny bastards.

As far as knowing what culture will do what based on what it looks like on agar, I suspect might be over simplifying it. Perhaps once one has an agar recipe dialed in and has lots of experience with a certain species on that exact agar, one could better estimate what's what. I've seen growth characteristics change in a culture when transferring it to a different nutrient agar, so there are a number of variables here.

Got it - thx. In that case I was probably overzealous by starting so many different strains at one time. Of those three plus Pan Hawaiian which one would you start with if you had to choose the one with the highest likelihood of 1st-time success?

I've only grown one kind, and it's none of those, so I really can't say. I've seen others have smashing success with Pan Jams and Australians. I've seen Jake do well with the Alabamas, but I've only had it on agar so far. IIRC, I had a hard time getting clean growth from it, so I focused on what I was having success with, Jake's PHV. It treated me VERY well!

I haven't seen too many stellar grows from people using the Hawaiians, but I always wanted to try them.

Bunnell MS tubs are not fruiting well and fruits in the conventional cased tub are not looking happy, looks like fusarium or what ever.
Tubs with wonky fruits like this always suck. Will chuck this one.

cased and uncased Bunnell will try a few clones from that cluster.

cased tub with compromised fruits. It's a toss!

Uncased Nec-D (MS) is doing better with lots of pins and knots

Wild Coast (MS) mono which was colonized conventionally. This got fruited without casing. Hard to resist putting one on, lol.

I probably will have to reduce the number of varieties and concentrate on just a couple. Like the idea of Nec-D growing
black and red spored fruits in one tub, so that one will stay.
