How is this plate looking? or  ? I’m still trying to cleanly isolate a wild pan species and been struggling with weird looking growth and contam

Way too much going on in that plate to be able to tell. Lots of overlay. I would need to see a picture with the plate half grown out, not grown all the way to the edge. I would advise you to use the josex poke to transfer a tiny bit to a new plate in hopes of limiting the genetics you get into that new plate.

Just a lonely fruit in the other tub..

I've had them fruit as late as October. You're good

Ok thanks I’ll do that

And sorry to keep posting nothing but agar plates in this thread, hopefully I will have more exciting content to share soon (such as whole trays full of majestic fruits  ), but for now this is where I’m at lol

Alright! I noticed 1 of the the pots is not doing much, produced just a few fruits. I did add a thick casing (quite a few cm on both).. maybe the other container is struggling with something or the casing is just too thick and that is the problem, but I did not want them to dry out. If it does not do much, maybe I'll dump the bucket in one of the large planters, cover with a thinner layer of soil and just let them be... I do intend to spread them all over my garden, but rather make some new for next year in a pot than take the gamble and end up with nothing again

How many times should we transfer with Pans. ?

I’m new at them to at the agar stage as well, normally I would do 5-7 transfers with cubes.

Is that enough with Pans.? I’m at 5 now an eager :amanita2:

You don't need to do that many transfers. Once you have a good looking culture isolated that grows cleanly you can user them for inoculations. This can be as soon as your T2-3.

You can put the culture to grain as soon as you think its clean. Some put T1 to grain to get to grab a few clones as soon as possible.

I personally like to transfer a few times but I do take my chances every now and then.

They’re weed Pans. but I’m still excited, a blue funk has followed me to 2 plates but 5 looks nice.
It’s only been 48 hours an it’s grown enough for another transfer.

I’ll post a pic when it’s more impressive.

Hey guys,

Bisporus cased & fruited on August 25th

Bisporus cased 25th & opened holes by removing tape on the 26th

Bc of space efficiency I am pretty much stuck to uniform sized and stackable monotubs (Model: Ikea Samla 45 liter).

What do you guys think. Can I get away with giving only passive fae like this? There's still the thinnest bit of poly in the lower holes to prevent gnats from entering.

If more fae is needed I could open up the bottom holes and provide some hydrated fae with this airpump/airstone setup that I borrowed from Holofractal's design.

Any thoughts?

Did see some grows in monotubs on this thread. Not sure if any were also Bisporus though.

Ha that is coincidence, I was fucking around with an EZ dial tub to fruit some lionsmane (maybe it's dead?, has been consolidating for weeks).. so I was just improvising.. adding a fogger to a tall vase / bottle so the water can't splash out and the fog goes nowhere unless it's agitated.. so I have an airpump with a loose end just hanging above the water.. its a 150lph airpump, can be adjusted down with a turning knob, which determines how much fog escapes the vase.

Not enough FAE for pans I assume.. , I have seen someone succeed with a bubbler before on this thread though, maybe look back some pages. messing around with this setup for Subtropicalis eventually. Left it alone at 75% overnight tub got way to foggy.. so turning it down to 50%..

EDIT:
Tried a smaller storing jar with some plastic wrap to prevent splashing.. some pics for reference.. the fogger becomes quite warm actually 37 Celsius..

good luck man

This is a bisporus mono tub grow by kirkeng, he does them unmodified.

Been working some more bisporus in unmodified, first pins littered the sides so initially I was bumming, but the top layers have been slowly filling out nicely, not as even as I’d like but I’m gunna take what I can get. Fingers crossed I can get some good flushes out of these guys. Cloned culture from the first grow I did recently, already seeing some improvement. This culture hates grain though so I’ve completely accepted using sterile manure spawn which has been working much better. Generally I use field dried nuggets but the folks I got it from have started refusing me so got a new person but there’s a lot more wood shavings and some composted mixed in, glad it’s not having any I’ll effects. Also recently found a cintulus nearby my home, no pics, but got it printed and sending to agar soon. Cambos on grain excited to see how those compare to bisporus once they’re ready. Gotta say though bisporus has been real good to me lately.

Thanks 0to/Baba!

That looks promising then  My casing seems a lot thinner though. Well, since I have multiple tubs to experiment with and I'm also about to fruit my semperviva tubs, I will hook up one tub of each species to the airstone setup and let the others be with just passive fae.

I probably worry too much

Cinctulus presumably

They’ve been called weed panaeolus because of their tendency to invade mushroom farms, apparently they pop up in commercial agaricus beds a lot
