Thanks for the kind words. I haven't done a great job with journals. Closest I have would be what I did on LAGM 2022: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27600402#27600402
I mostly just follow JOC's process. Learned everything from him, with a lot of additional help along the way from the regulars in this thread. If you have any specific questions ask away.

Congrat-u-fucking-lations!!!’ That is so awesome and I’m stoked for you. I just had mine like a month ago so I very clearly remember and wanted to wake up the house to show everyone lol. I literally netted 3g’s from the entire tray as it kept giving me 1-2 fruits at a time, but I learned a lot about growing conditions from messing around and changing them. Congrats again and you’ll have edge to edge trays of them before you know it

This thread has a lot spawn to sub ratio recommendations in the 1:5 range. Is there anything detrimental to using a higher ratio with this species? I'm assuming they will need more moisture with less substrate. Anything else? Do they perform better with the lower nutrient density from the high ratio?

I like 1:1 to 1:3. Lately I have been hovering around 1:2. I like the faster colonization times, I feel that this helps beat out contamination, and I don't notice smaller harvests. I have not been scientific about the comparison though.

I have had some great success even with 1:1, but less is recommended.

I've got it in a martha tent. I usually use it for lion's mane and oysters, so I'm pretty sure FAE shouldn't be an issue. I have my humidity controller set to 93% with a +- of 5. I had been going in and misting manually every couple days as well. Should I continue to mist manually and should I adjust my humidity now that I have pins?
I've got several pins popping up all over now! A couple at the edge are coming in in clusters too! It looks like I'll definitely have good clone material.

I now inoculated 10 pint jars with agar wedges of clean mycelium. But i have no way of controlling temperature during the jar grow stage. Would it be more optimal to keep the jars in my room which stays at 72F +/-1 or keep them in the garage which goes into the mid 80's F during the day and around 77F at night? During the agar stage I kept it in my room and the garage but I wasnt watching closely enough to see a definitive difference.

I would keep em in your room where the temps are controlled and stable.

HI Jake. I inoculated a few plates with pan jam and pan indo, the jam plates are moving faster than the indo plates. Is this normal or should I inoculate more plates with the indo and hope for better cultures? Those pics really are beauties.

Hello, this is my first time with pan cyan (brunell)
i have spawned 1 quart yesterday (shoebox coir/hpoo/straw) but havent cased it, no top layer. as i thought that this should be applied later. today i can see mycelium on the move, a lot of exposed grains and spikes of straw of course .
for a casing i have available coco, peat moss, calcium carbonate, vermiculite.
can you advise me how and when to case? ps. I haven't got a ph tool.

When you spawn your grain to substrate, you always want to cover the grains with more substrate. Doesn't have to be a lot - just enough to cover them 1/4" or so.
As for casing, wait until after the entire surface is fully colonized with mycelium, then apply the casing. I'm in no rush with pans and like to wait 2-3 days after 100% surface colonization before applying the casing. When I do I move the trays to my fruiting tent immediately. If you case too soon and/or don't put to fruiting conditions immediately after casing, you can sometimes get trays that will colonize all the way through your casing layer.
Given your list of available casing materials, I suggest 50/50 blend of peat and verm. That's the standard recipe anyway. You will want to add some hydrated lime to bring the PH level up or your risk of contamination and also of the mycelium colonizing your casing layer. I add 1 Tablespoon of hydrated lime per 1 quart of casing material. Don't forget to pasteurize the casing material the same way you did your substrate.
Unrelated - My bispo trays are coming along nicely. Here's a pic of one of the trays:

thank you for your detailed response. its the first time i leave grains uncovered and it doesn't feel right could i cover them with pure verm and give it a heavy misting? as i havent got coco prepared right now?

I'm hoping to get some eyes and opinions on my first pan cyan grow. These are supposed to be peace river. I'm not exactly sure what to expect from here. Should I expect any more quantity from subsequent flushes? These guys seem short compares to what I usually see in other pictures. Is it from FAE or genetics? I've got them in a martha with a humidity controller set to 93 +-5. Any comments and/or pointers greatly appreciated!

My Peace River looked like this:

I saw that Peace River, Texas and Brooksville give high harvests if all the conditiions kept right.
