Low-mid 80's. I'm sure they'd fruit in hotter - I just never bothered trying.

Iβm not very experienced with pans, but outdoor bisporus fruited for me during a heat wave, temps were high 90s for a week. The indoor I did was fluctuating low 80s for the first flush up to high 80βs/low 90s by the last flushes. Canβt say if the reduced yield was due to higher temps or later flushes though.

Cool, thanks for the info. also might be a significant difference between 90 outside for mushrooms in the ground versus 90 in a garage with a bag/pan of substrate. being in the direct ground will definitely be cooler

Also, realizing as I read through this thread that people normally grow pans on manure/straw blends. How do pans do with compost? The bag I made is a ~5 pound bag from homemade compost from my yard. Should i expect a lower yield, as it's a bit more broken down than aged manure?
Should i perhaps pasteurize some straw and spawn this compost bag to straw? also, I sterilized this compost, not pasteurize, in case that information helps.

I have 3 shoebox sized subs that I put in a SGFC. Iβve kept temps between 74-80 degrees and humidity in the high 90s, they were starting to show lots of pins and my casing was looking dry so I continued a VERY light misting but now it looks like my pins stopped growing the last few days. What am I doing wrong?

I'm testing a sub recipe that is 3C straw, 1C store bought compost, 1/4C Wpoo and 1 tsp powdered chicken feed. I sterilize sub and casing.
Here is a MS of pan cyan Ho'okipa beach, HI starting to push.

I don't think pan pins like being directly misted, some people syringe water to avoid this. The sub itself may need water too?
Good luck!

Hi guys,
Back at trying to grow Pans! Again..
Got this far with Bisporus:

So I've got two jars from ms agar that look good (to me) and an lc that is almost done.
The lc I intend to direct inoculate sterile substrate bags with. Still not quite sure where to take the jars. I'm leaning towards going g2g with them and go for monotub grows as that best fits my usual procedure.
Any thoughts from the experienced Pan growers in here?

Bisporus will do fine in tubs. Scroll a couple pages back, people have done it with success. I also plan to do this at some point.

You don't need much spawn honestly. I'd keep the spawn ratio a bit lower and possibly those 2 jars will be sufficient (depending on how many tubs you actually wanna make).

I'm aiming to use my normal Ikea 45 liter tubs. 8.5 liters total sub would be 5 cm thick if I calculated it right. I was thinking about using 3 jars per tub, coming down to 1:4 approximately.
Not counting casing btw
Sound good?

Feels great to finally have some pans movin again! These are jambos
I kept track of these transfers so I can learn better what to look for with this species. Ill probably take a few transfer from these T1's and then put 3-5 of them grain and pick the best jar to spawn to some shit

I have to start over. I had two separate cultures that looked good until I shook the jars. The myc struggled to recover and they went south. I think that they were bacterial. That happened on 3 occasions so instead of grain, I sterilized some jars of hpoo, straw and verm and directly inoculated them. Those jars didn't do anything at all.
