Thank you brother. I sometimes do with grains, but I did these with hay manure. It works anyway.

Fuck yeah!
I followed a bisporus pin through its entire life and took a picture each day in the morning, here are the results:
Day 1
 Day 2
 Day 3
 Day 4

The pin looked basically the same for the first 2 days so I didn’t add that picture, but it took a total of 5 days to go from pin to mature fruit

Adas said: That's amazing! On my last trip with Bisporus it was still bright outside, and my CEVs looked like they were being assembled using thousands of very thin colorful wires. Words don't do it justice ofc but it looked way cooler than you can probably imagine.
Sounds sort of like seeing “the fabric of the universe”

My first proper indoor Bisporus grow! Yay! A day diff between photos.

I'm sure it's thanks to the amazing culture by VL, but I also did something differently this time. Properly pasteurized and limed casing, and I've actually left it in open air after casing it. Only occasionally misting, then misting everyday to simulate persistent rains. And once I saw some fruiting, I've just popped them into a tub with water. No extra FAE aside from opening the tub couple times a day.
It seems like once you are able to initiate pinning, they will do just fine with relatively low FAE. I just don't like that two of them are trying to take a nap.
Looking forward to more amazing adventures with this amazing species! Both in growing and in the mystical space.

Loving the bisp porn that is going on here lately.
NecD and Bunnell germ plates are showing a couple of growth spots and I think that all my germination plates have hatched some usable growth now. A bit suspicious about RDU cause it's just that one spot for a while now and usually when germination starts in one spot on one plate then more will follow on the same or the other plates within the next 2 days. Will have to keep an eye on that one it also is growing more under the surface than fluffing up. The myc that is showing is looking good though.
These all came from prints on paper (thank you to the generous donors) and I thought that I would end up with more contamination cause some of the paper was all wrinkled up from keeping the caps moist during printing but it all looks clean so far.
I still got Jambos to plate up but I have to hold my horses here before its getting too much. Wouldn't be the first time

Hi, I tried germinating a panaeolus cyanescens swab about a week ago onto agar and was wondering if anyone knows if they actually germinated or I'm just growing contaminants?
The first plate
has a strange satellite colony that concerns me (assuming it's not other types of fungus growing), and the second plate
 is much smaller in size.
There also seems to be a contamination growing under the agar, which is probably bacteria I guess.
I did it in a still air box but have been having major trich issues even with cubensis: the grain jars colonize fine but as soon as they go in to pasteurized manure they all go green in a few days.
Are there any salvageable parts of these plates to transfer?
Thanks

Damn. Looks like I'll have to try with another swab. No panaeolus mycelium at all?

Unfortunately this looks pretty overrun by bacteria, you could try germinating spores on PF-Tek pucks like josex does.

Just did, 5 jars in progress. I'll also prep a bit more pasteurized substrate for them. I just have five liters "ripening" the moment, would be nice to have 10l worth of substrate. ------ I've used substrate that was sitting for 3 weeks, used that for estero.. 5 days in now; colonized 3/4. So far so good..

Also spawned the remaining 2 jars into a big oven slide.. as that is what I had available.
Was unable to do that sterile though, was too crowded in the sab and I moved a lot.. also forgot to put the tin foil in the sab, so contamination got in 100%.. but the substrate has been sitting for nearly a month.. who knows.. maybe it has enough bacteria so trich won't attack right away.. I hope I can at least get 2 flushes out of this oven slide.

Today I have put three 8 month old pan cambo clone LCs on agar to test for viability. These were kept at room temp, the room is not heated but well insulated so for the last couple of month it probably got down to 50F (10C) at times. LC nutrient concentration was 0.1% at time of inoculation.

Photo was taken after I gave the bottles a good shake. I'm a bit skeptical about them being still alive and wished pans were resilient like pleurotus. The other day I have put a 5 year old Oyster LC on the stir plate to break up the big solid ball of myc that was floating in there and left it for two days at room temp before looking at it again, there was clearly new fluffy growth visible. Simply amazing.

Don't want to be a bummer (again), but I don't think you're gonna get good mycelium from 5 y.o. prints. Possibly nothing will germinate. But try it and let us know!

I’m refrigerating my bisporus substrates and my galindoi/tamp substrates. I’ll get back to them later in the year. I’ll definitely keep y’all posted if the bisporus survive and continue fruiting. I’m confident the galindoi/tamps will survive, but not so much bisporus. It’s possible though!

The Bisporus will be fine. For me it survived winter, one night down to -15C. It's gonna be just fine in the fridge.

Left town for a 4 day weekend, with Peace River clones just starting to fruit, and came back to this. Oops! The cracked caps are because the power went out while I was away and the only thing that doesn't re-start automatically is the room humidifier. Tent still fogs but the ambient air is like 35% RH with the room humidifier off, vs 50% with it on. Makes a big difference.
