impressive dawg!! how often do you mist once pinning? how wet do you keep your substrate, im pretty new to pans and im currently fruiting so for i've gotten about 3 fruit bodies enough to isolate and start over on agar.

Someday I’ll have a first wave like that!
Pan cyans are wayyyyy more difficult than I expected.. current tub is doing okay but small fruits and sporadic pinning.

A couple T1 transfers of the experimental Pan Cyan BVI pseudo-stone isolation project (signature).
I have this culture on grain at the moment as well, waiting to see if it replicates these formations on grain.

Nice, still checking this thread every now and then. I've purchased good equipment to create JCM's fruiting chamber. Planning to start with the first print I got my hands on (kind of symbolic), which will be Estero.
can't wait to share here !

Absolutely beautiful ekabpils! They look like they get plenty fae! Do you fruit in monotubs? I am wondering if I should remove the polyfill from my monotub. Will it be better if they are removed in order to provide plenty of fae?
Thanks a lot ☺️

Hi! As I previously wrote I use combination of monotub with additional wet air coming through aquarium compressor (200-400 l/h for 50L monotub):

Awesome, seems to be producing some pearls. I recently inoculated some jars with Cinctulus, one jar is producing a crazy amount of pearls. It's slightly bacterial tho, but it might be producing more sclerotia in response to bacteria, not sure tho. I already spawned one jar of a local cinct and one from Warren Co., PA. I cased the local cinct a couple days ago and put them in the FC. I think I've noticed some of the cincts producing more pearls on agar after keeping them in my cool basement for a week or two. Might be worth a try. I've never grown tamps or mexicana, do they produce more sclerotia in response to stress?

If I get these guys to fruit I'll be sure to spread the spores. This spawn is a bit bacterial but I'll still spawn it. I've been having issues with my grains, I usually PC for at 2 hrs. but I noticed some bacteria in a few jars about a week after pressure cooking, I think I'll do 2.5 hrs next time.

Well, those skinny PHV fruits may have a contam cause after all. Not one, but two kinds of slime mold: chocolate, and let's say vanilla.
No idea how they got there. I pasteurized the manure for 12 hours at 165F, and I've never seen these in any other grows.

Hah I just had that exact same whitish-yellow slime mold (or whatever it is) in a couple of my tubs last week (straw/verm/manure). I'm 99% certain it was due to failed pasteurization. How are you pasteurizing? If using an Instapot, I have a tip I can share - I have found instapots don't always reach full keep-warm temp and there is a way you can check this.

I pasteurize in jars using a sous vide and a thermometer inserted into the center of the jar farthest from the heating coil. Any chance it was too hot? Maybe I should try 160F instead of 165F?
Also, should I toss these immediately or let fruit? I may move it into a room I don't use for growing, on a different floor. I have a hepa filter running 24/7 in the room it's in currently.

The red one appears to be stemonitis, I personally see stemonitis in some of my indoor woodlover tubs (where there is rotting, wet wood and plants). Do you also grow woodlovers somewhere nearby? Like Adas said, somehow the spores touched down on that tub or were latent in the sub somewhere?
These slime molds are kind of cool in their own right and in my experience SOME of them can cohabit to a degree (the exact stemonitis I observe here cohabits with Ovoid mycelium) others can for sure outrun the myc you're working with.

I can't imagine it was too hot if you ended up with those contaminates growing. The heat should kill off all the things that ended up growing in your tray. Your process sounds fine - lower temp wouldn't help this particular issue.
Could the contaminates have come in on your casing layer?
The only time I have had stuff like this or ink caps etc grow in my trays is when my sub temps didn't get high enough during pasteurization. And in those grows, I either don't get fruits at all or I get one really pathetic flush and nothing else. Be curious what others experience is on this.

I had an invasion of chocolate tube slime like a year ago. I don't recall how I pasteurized my substrate. I didn't really affect the cubes though, just crawled up the side of the tub and grew it's chocolatey tubes.
