The substrate did end up being used about 3 weeks after pasteurization which may be the source of metabolites maybe.

Hey mycobay, if you can grow whatever that is under pan conditions, just imagine how well you're going to grow pans!
I know firsthand how easy it is to mislabel. Last year I had PHV and Peace River Florida on agar at the same time. I had them labeled PHV and PRF, but after a couple of transfers of each, I realized they were all labeled PHV one day during inspection.
I thought I could tell them apart from looks, but I wasn't 100%, so I pitched them all except for my PHV clone. I now realize I should have fruited them because it would have been obvious.

I've also had a mishap recently. Not with labeling, but I must have accidentally thrown out my Bisporus culture from ChocolateMilk. I did not intend to, but shit happened. I was looking for it today and it just isn't there.

Here are some additional pictures. Sorry for the still relatively low quality photos, I'm on an older android phone.

Finally getting closer to figuring these out after a bunch of failures. I started with the tek that called for taping half of the top hole with duct tape and half with micro pore while leaving half of the bottom holes open and covering half with micropore. My sub was drying out way too much so I covered the whole bottom in 1 layer of micropore. Came home from a vacation to this fuzzy feet fest. They look like shot lol. I took the duct tape off of the top hole and covered it half in micropore while leave half open.
Any suggestions team?

Thanks mate but I have VL's genetics. I just wanted to work with CM as well.
Adrenaline, that's better success than I've ever had with Bisp! Keep trying!

Lesson learned about block placement... Shiitake's are open blocks I spray. Pans were directly below.

Rocky, is that overlay coming through the casing layer? Was it caused by getting some indirect mist?
Adrenaline, I don't think those look like shot, considering you are growing them in a mono. I haven't read Baba's Panaeolus in Monotubs 2.0 yet, are you posting in there as well? I think he's the king of Pans in monos, and could offer better insight than me. Are you planning on cloning a fruit and growing that out?
Mycobay, have you posted those pictures to the Official Exotics thread yet? Edit: I see that you have, I hope someone can ID them to serve my own curiosity!

My casing overlaid really bad. I was going to patch but wasn't sure. It was running in my gourmet tent with lids on. Maybe lack of FAE caused it?
I should probably spawn the rest, just wanted to dial in tent before bulk.

Even if there are a couple of weird fruits, I like seeing them! I can't wait to start back up again!
I miss the flavor of a fresh pan!

Hehe, can't always be easy canopies. Gotta grind from time to time. Took three clones from the mature fruits.

the stipes are hollow right? so you can slice a piece of tissue from the inside of the stipe right?

Yeee little hollow section on the inside. I use JOC's tweezer apporach. Split the stipe with my fingers, then use the tweezers to pull a few 'strands' from the inside.

Was working Burnells that were known to be dirty. Did a few transfers and kept my germ. Sent a few looking decent plates and spawn was always meh. Germ plate finally started doing some subtle funky things. Gonna let it ride to see.
 Well that's a T1. Germ ain't better obviously.

Can't see it very well, but those white spots are similar to what I see with Bunnell plates and they are normal. Looks good, send it!

I had Peace River Florida on agar. It looked very similar and would stall out before reaching the edge of the plate. I finally got one culture cleaned up, but that plate still had a section that looked dirty so it would have required one more transfer. The rest of the mycelium looked pretty normal on that plate and actually reached the edge.
It took a lot of transfers to get to that point. Before that, I had thought maybe the mycelium just looked weird, so I had taken it to a little bit of grain, but all of them went bad.
Unfortunately I had to shut everything down so I'm sad I wasn't able to keep going with it. I was so close to having a clean culture, but I will try it again soon.
