Dang, those are gorgeous!!! I think you have your conditions dialed in perfectly, and it shows!
It is fascinating how the substrate is determining color, or do you think it is culture related?

Finally added Peace River to grain. The mycelium stalled on my agar. I wonder if that's due to too much nutes...

Some of my Peace River cultures stalled on agar as well. I now think that it was due to some stubborn contaminate. I had a culture that was almost clean, but would have needed one more transfer to be sure. That culture finally made it all the way to the edge of the plate.
I hate that I ran out of warm weather before I was able to grow them out. I can't wait to get started up again though! Spring is close!

Mine is from Majestic Earth. It's a 3 cu. ft. bag, bought it at Lowes. It's probably a lifetime supply of peat for me since it's only used for casing.
It does have some stick-like pieces in it, I try to pick most of them out. I used to do it before pasteurization, but the last time I applied casing I picked them out while I used it. I think I liked doing it better that way.
FAI, (For Anyone's Information), I get my verm at Home Depot, they sell big bags of it and I like the medium/fine consistency of it. I have not found large bags of verm at Lowes, so I've had to go to both locations to get what I needed.

Pan cyan wcrs showed its first pins yesterday, few more popping up today. I'm not expecting fireworks though!
Will get a photo tomorrow.

I'm not sure yet - the white ones grew on the tray that had no straw - verm/manure only, so maybe there is something to that. I will probably stuck to straw/verm/manure blends though. But I'm going to play around with hemp straw thanks to VL's suggestion. I bought a block of it and will be doing some side by side tests once my current collection of grain jars mature. It's way more pricey than straw but on the scale I grow, it is inconsequential. I'm curious if I notice any difference.

Fruit output is very low, as it is on 80% of my bispo tubs, but I thought it was neat. Wouldn't call it leucistic, just interesting... I guess there were those other trays that produced the bullseye colored fruits where the caps were light in the middle and dark brown around the outer edge - this is just missing the edge ring.

vs what the most common coloration is:

vs the bullseye color variation:

Very impressive my friend, as always! We all have a lot to learn from you!

Not a good idea. Who knows, you could put other species that would be out-competed by a new introduction at risk. We've fucked up as a species many, many times in this way.

My transfer plates have viable colonies for all three pans I started: PHV, Jambo, Pan cyan. I only have the one fruiting chamber, so I can only get one on grain and growing soon. The others, if I use them to inoculate LC, will they keep longer?
I recall folks here saying don't inoculate using old pan plates. So, is LC a viable option to keep them stable until I can use them?

Sweet. Thanks!
I just wasn't sure how well cyan mycelium recovered.

Could be, I've used an LC that was full col for a month or so and kept at room temp. It performed well!

Are we still under the general consensus that Pan make does okay when stored in the fridge? If so, will it keep like cube myc for many months?

I can't really comment on that I'm afraid as I don't usually hang onto much for any length of time.

Look into my journal, I've recently done an experiment (not quite what you're asking, but should resolve a lot of concerns).

I think this is the third-ish Peace River tray that has had a first flush. This was the best so far. I was iffy about this variety until now.
