Is it preferred for casing to colonise slowly?

Ideally you don't want your casing to colonise at all.

No verm in your coir casing?

Somtimes. I actually only use verm casings these days. I just sprinkle it on straight from the bag and mist the shit out of it. Coir casings kinda suck IMO.

I did my casing but temp went up to 185 F in no time. Is it useless now or can I still use it? What is bad about running it to hot??

185 is wayy too hot, you run the risk of killing all the beneficial bacteria & running into trich.
I always pasteurize my casings and subs @ 140°F for 2hrs

Just to follow up.. I checked on those whispy jars again and the myc is starting to knot and become more dense at specific points. It looks like when you pour spawn in a grai jar, shake it up, thwn see 1cm growth expanding radially from randome grains, but it almost seemed like it needed to colonize all the oats with the whispy myc first. Maybe that's just the way it is.. I'll hang on to the jars and wait to see if they finish colonizing with the new, dense myc.

SO here are my two cinctulus jars...

The first one is younger then the second one, but the second one looked like the first one does less then a week ago. Im not sure about this but it looks like the thin whispy stuff colonizes the jar and then it thickens up with that bright white mycellium?

Here is my little tiny SGFC.

It's made out of two small trays. I have superglued polyfill to the rim of the top one coz there was quite huge gap. I have done the casing once again and this time boiled the water very quickly and turned the stove off at 120F and it reached 146. babysat it for a hour. have got my mode I think (I use small 1pint jars for everything coz the PC is small and don't take 1l jars in). I bought 6500 Kelvin compact fluorescent lamp and run it 12/12h. Inside is this hygrometer:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Xikar-PuroTemp-Round-Digital-Hygrometer-832XI-/172279983968?hash=item281cafef60:g:WAwAAOSwGtRXxyG~
I have placed it at the little tripod that they put into middle of pizza box so it reads at the level of the casing. I have found nice brass analog one in cigar shop in the city centre and going to pick it up on tuesday.
Thats it. Now waiting.
Fingers crossed .

My pan goliath looks the same. I've transferred some 5 times and I get the same crazy growth patterns. Will it ever become uniform?

This is exactly what mine do. What's the deal? Why are ours different than others'?

This is what I'm talking about. I've transferred these like maybe 4 or 5 times. How many times will I need to transfer before it's nice and even and not this crazy stuff? My cube transfers (clones) look contam free in one or two transfers.
Does it have anything to do with the agar mix drying out over time and changing the way the mycelium looks?

A couple more, what? You mean transfer some more (sorry, I sound stupid, I know, my English isn't the best)
I have these in a box in a cupboard with a light. Light comes on at 75F and off at 85F. However, on a really cold night, if may go a few degrees below 75.
I'm making a transfer about every 7 - 10 days. Is that normal?
thanks again for your help and encouragement. It's helping me lots.
