That does sound like a lot of work. Man 120kg of wood is a heck of a lot!!
What's the consequence of inadequate leaching?

The bag I crumbled had been colonizing for 17 days though and I finally picked off the small remainder of uncolonized sub and crumbled it. There was no contamination present though which was surprising.

So should I case it or wait? This is a Nec-D clone in case that matters
My relatively low experienced eyes say that this is probably ready for casing. Maybe someone else can chime in

I would actually wait a day or two.
Everytime I’ve cased pans at full colonization they ate it and I had to redo it a couple days in.

Yeah I am having an issue with one of my Rainbow Eucalyptus trays in my FC and I am wondering what to do about it:

Its on Day 4 of fruiting. When trays get overlay like this, do you have to scrape off the colonized casing and recase? Or can you add more casing?
Im getting worried. I have 3 trays in the FC on day 6 of fruiting conditions and no pins :-( 2 trays on Day 4 with no pins either. Trying to figure out if its an FAE issue. I had a good humidity cycle going but still nothing.

I have recased with success before, don't know about scratching.
Maybe you have cased too early. Can you see knots on the side of the glass tray on this one and the others?

Does anyone have any observations on growth speed on agar, grain, and in sub during the consolidation phase based on various temperatures? What temps are you doing that at?
I really only have two environments I can work in. One is 72F and the other is my specific grow room which I can set to any temp. My tent is in the grow room so whatever the room temp is, the tent is. I know from JOC's past comments, mid 80's is ideal to initiate pinning for pans, but I like to try to have other things in the grow room outside the tent like grain jars, trays that are consolidating, and even plates. So I can't really run the room at 83F unless the only thing in there are fruiting trays. So I set the room to 78F as a compromise.
Recently I started experimenting with coir/manure and coir/manure/straw-pellets and even coir/manure/straw. I've had some good success though it colonizes a bit slower than straw/manure. Straw/manure was colonizing in just 3-4 days after spawning. Coir is adding 3-4 days on top of that. And I'm now doing coir consolidation outside the grow room (which means in 72F) and it's even slower yet (4 days and I'm only just now starting to see the tiniest bit of mycelium poking through in a few spots).
I might start mixing in more straw trays to my grows again, instead of trying only various coir mixes that I've been focused on lately. I had an idea to run my store-bought chopped straw through my straw chopping / leaf mulching machine to help separate the seeds from it in order to see if the uncolonized seed content was hurting my grows.

I run my pans in 60's-70's. They tend to wave after wave but no full flushes.
When I've been reading about composting they make it sound like pasteurization should kill most seeds. Never had my seeds all die. I'm going to try some manure/straw pure compost this year. Pile is under snow should probably turn it.

Thanks Rocky. I'm not worried about germination, but about nutrients in the seeds, and that the seeds leach out into the sub during pasteurization becoming a contamination vector. I think it was Adas who said pasteurization should make this point moot but I'm superstitious about this and will continue to be (about this and other things) until I am getting more consistent results in my flushes.

I spawned 4 1/2 trays of different varieties pans tonight. I used millet for the first time and I knew this was going to be true - but seeing how far and how evenly a quart of mellow spawn goes was just exciting. I’m going to guess there are few to not areas of substrate that don’t have multiple grains of millet just a centimeter or less apart. Im expecting very rapid colonization!
NecD Jambo Wild Coast Bunnell And “Fake Pan?” - this is from a very shitty syringe I got from a brand new vendor. I inoculated about 8 plates and two 1/4 pint jars of grains and got nothing while waiting 3-4 weeks. Finally just before I threw it out one of the plates showed a tiny whiff of mycelium - so I transferred it. It was super slow but picked up speed on the millet. I emailed the vendor to complain about the quality of the syringe they sold me - at least it was clean! They never wrote back. Fly by night operation is my guess.

That’s a solid selection of varieties. I need to get my hands on some Jambos somehow. I agree on the millet - it practically mixes itself.
