@Pasty Those tubs look great, especially given that they have no manure. Hope you post your results!
Some up-close pics of my gimpy tray. Real head-scratcher.

Yay

Nay

How fast does bisporus mature? i ask because the big pin in the upper part of the 3rd photo is like that for 2 days i think. It got a little bit fatter but not taller. I think i develpoed some form of fear of getting dwarfs lol.

Pasty, I'm looking forward to seeing your results.
Hindsight, that gimpy tray is a bummer. Do you have a different tray that used the same culture? If so, how does it compare? I'm guessing it's just some bad luck in the genetic selection, based on my limited experience. (No fault of yours, it seems some cultures that look good on agar just don't fruit well.)
Mandala, congrats! That big one might be a mutant, but I'm guessing the others will be normal. If those are MS, one or two mutants could be expected based on my limited experience. I certainly had a few mutants amongst normal fruits when using MS.
Your contaminate looks like a satellite, I was getting quite a few of them when I was using my SAB. I tried every tip I could find regarding using a SAB, I still had them on roughly 20% of my plates. I would love a proper flowhood, but I doubt I will ever have the funds to get one. Until then, an occasional satellite contam is acceptable, I just make extra plates and take extra transfers to play the odds. Can't wait to see updates!

Great question, and yes I did do two trays with the same culture. The other one wasn't great but it was better. Only problem is, I don't recall how long before harvest this pic was taken so the fruits may have gotten a bit larger but I don't think very much:

Lost 5/6 trays of my wild coast due to substrate not being fully submerged in lime water. Cased and put in the FC with Gals (never ran these). Hoping I can get away with treating these the same. Last year had to water with syringe any chance I can. Made some modifications and removed some extra FAE. Hope it's balanced.
Can I get some thots and preys

Hey Gang I was trying to make some sense of my print collection this evening and I came across a small pile of Pan Cyan var Bunnell Florida prints⦠a wild origin Pan courtesy of our man Adas.
He sent me a bunch to distribute and I sent about 10-12 out. Then folks stopped asking. Iβve got another 6-7 here if you are interested in trying out these genetics that Adas was raving about.
Send me a PM with your address if you are interested..,

Rocky, thots and preys for you!
Nobler, looking good! It looks like the jar that is doing the best is also the largest jar. I'm starting to think that pans do better when fruited in larger containers. Perhaps the bigger the better as long as it isn't too deep?
I've considered ditching the individual trays and trying to make my fruiting pool one GIANT tray, but that sounds like a real PITA. Maybe one day I'll try it...

I noticed that as well. Whatβs interesting is they all have the same substrate except I broke those up and used those jars like trays, then cased. The bottle style jars are just now pinning.
Iβll probably go to trays soon π€

@Adas let's see i think the big pin i've been talking about appeared on 1 or 2 of december and i've put them in fruiting conditions on 22 of november so aprox 10 days to pin. New pins seems to appear almost daily but there isn't a big pinset.
It seems i got dwarfs tho. I got 2 more pins that are kinda growing in girth but not in length. also they seem to grow way slower than i expected a pan to grow. I think my tamps grew quicker than this. We'll see for sure after a week or so.
@rua yes it's MS i hope you're right tho and i don't get dwarfs with bisporus too, I'm kinda full of dwarfs.
Yeah i get contams and satelites from time to time, tbh i wish a flowhood too but looking back on how often i got contams i'm ok with my SAB. my contam rates are kinda like yours i think i get less than 15% contams.

Maybe they're just bulking up before growth explosion? I'd see it as a good thing personally. Mine seem to be starting to form primordia, but I can't really tell. So smol.

@Mandala, I hope some of them grow tall for you! At least you know you're on the right trajectory, might just need a different culture...

Yay, I think I've finally figured out Bisporus! I've left the mycelium wet for some time and nothing was happening... But yesterday I've introduced more FAE and suddenly there are some primordia forming out of nowhere!
I'm so excited!

Welcome Land Trout!
@Adas, I'm looking forward to trying Bisporus outdoors next spring. Hope you have some pics to share of yours (indoor I'm assuming).
Had a chance to go into the woods today with a friend and sample some of my pans. Perfect day for it, even with a little bit of rain.
