glad you're in this thread now noppie, this is the place to be for growing pans...and i dont know if its just the strain of goliaths that i sent you, but when i grew them they did the exact same thing on the first flush and then perked up on the subsequent flushes..but the potency is supreme for sure..

great job my friend! and you should be very proud that you succeeded with pans on the first try..i failed 3 times with pan cyan before i finally succeeded, and it was those goliaths that popped my cherry..i have now grown many different pans successfully

I wouldn't mind learning a bit about growing pans.
Thanks for making the thread

Hey guys!! I have some updates on some prjects i have going.

I have a colonized jar of Pan Cambo. But im not sure how healthy it looks?

I also have some Bisporous dishes and one jar of Bisporous with leap off...

I also have a cinctulus dish colonized and a transfer i took from that dish, along with a jar that has leap off.

Did you clean it up before putting it on grain?

They look kinda good to me, but there is a bit of bacteria here and there.

I edited my post...

I did clean up the myc on agar, but I am suspect of the jar. The rest of the batch contamed, this was the only one to colonize completely after the first shake.

This is one of FF's old posts, see how some grains are smudged on the glass and not fully colonised, that's why im suspecting that yours is  a bit bacterial.

Doesn't mean it won't produce anything though.

And those plates look great man, good job! :super:

Hey thanks Teemo!! I'm still perplexed by Pan mycellium, I cant tell if its mold or myc hahaha. I think that my agar might be contributing to my confusion though. I have a feeling it is very high in nutes and I remember seeing that this can cause whispy myc even in cubes. Could that be possible?

I think your jars look healthier then mine does! Did you end up spawning those?

Bisporous shows very wispy growth, even here, take a look https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21020424

And the more you transfer the better, so just keep the transfer going.

I keep transferring even after i drop to grain, just so that if it contams, i still have a chance of having an even more cleaner culture.

*Edit: That wasn't my grow it was FF's, i think he spawned them, but i don't remember, it was posted on this thread a long time ago lol.

lookin good peteyboy! thats bisporus for ya, and it will be whispy on grain as well but soon as your final substrate goes into fruiting it thickens up like crazy(like after about a week in my greenhouse)  and yeah those cambo will most likely still be fine with that small amount of bacteria..the way i see it it's worth a shot...

i often find my myc can from many species can battle a bit of bacteria and win so long as its not to infected

Hi guys,

I have one jar of Pan cambo that looks like those of Peteyboy with a bit more of slimy grains. I will give it a try anyways. I will add some pictures later.

My question is. Can I use straw only as a substrate? I have got Mushroom cultivator by Stemets and this is what he recommends. I have no means to pasteurize hpoo. I also have 3 jars of 3:1 grains:hpoo colonizing and looking OK so my plan is to use those for spawning. Does poo content affect potency???

I'm on the 5th transfer now and still going.

LOL! Received my first Pan Cam syringe. The vendor sent the syringe without a cap (or needle)! Just a fuckin open syringe collecting air. Figured I'd try to put it on agar anyway see what happens.

Transferred an early piece of what LOOKED like mycelium.

Whelp.

BL-how does my cinctulus jar look?! I was hoping you'd chime in here, being the expert with the cinctulus variety!

Teemo-that myc looks super fluffy! I have yet to have any Pan myc take on that appearance. What is your agar recipe?

Its Pasty's agar tek, never stopped using it, really easy to prep too.

I just threw those plates haha, the growth was super weird, and they were old plates that i just kept to observe, my Goliath syringe always put this type of growth out, its weird.

But after a few transfers it becomes uniform but still fluffy as fuuck :awesomenod::thumbup:

I'm not giving up until I have fresh pans to munch!

Well Pan tends to always have weird growth patterns with everyone, i don't know why, my Pan jamaica is MUCH more wispier, it looks so much different from the Pan goliath i have.

And FF's Pans look waay different than my Pan mycelium.

But keep transferring, all you want is uniform growth along the plate.

I still haven't fruited any of my cultures, but hopefully i will soon, been busy this whole year with Uni and shit so ye lol.

But mi hermano Fantasic Mr. Fox has helped me a lot so i kinda know what i'm doing now lol, so hopefully i'll get this batch to fruit.
