Thanks Adas, I really couldn't have done it without your help and the help of so many others here. And there was a bit of luck in my ending up with that particular culture in that tray.

I'll post some more pics of the REu in a few days when they are mature.

You should definitely clone the shit out of those Nec.

I don’t recall seeing albinos ever.

Hindsight, WOW, what a tray! Great job!

Can anyone speak to whether or not those are true albino pans?! Not that it matters, those are some beautiful pans. I also really like the culture with the more bell shaped caps.

My dud tray finally spit out a few fruits, including a cluster with my first fused caps.

Thanks guys. JOC or anyone else who knows: I tried printing these and after sitting overnight, the caps dropped zero spores onto foil. Either that or the spores are transparent and can’t be seen on foil. I don’t think these are TRUE albino because I can see a touch of color toward the center of the caps. I know many albino cube varieties don’t drop spores but what I don’t know is if not dropping spores is always linked to albinism or if it can happen to any culture?

I’ve already dried the first flush after taking four clones and I still have three fresh caps I’m trying to print. Unless you guys have other advice, my plan was to swab the gills, mix with a bit of water, put that on a slide with some dye and look for spores under my microscope (I have a 1000x scope). I may also swab the foil under the caps and look at that under the scope too (to see if they did drop spores but the spores are clear). I thought I read only a true albino would produce clear spores. But again, I know very little about this.

Definitely swab the foil bro. If they don't drop it could be a significant disadvantage.

I moved one of the caps to the side of the foil - zero spores visible to the naked eye on the foil. I dabbed a piece of clear scotch tape onto the foil then put it on a slide. This is at 400x with no dye. Since the spores are not clear and they do show up, I have to assume that these caps just drop very few spores compared to a normal cap. Should be plenty for germination purposes though. What do you guys think? Print them or swab the gills?

That's definitely very pigmented. I guess they just drop VERY few of them. If the gills aren't much darker than the rest of the fruit, the swabbing can be pointless. Invisible prints are not pleasant to work with, obviously, but there will be very few spores on the swabs as well in that case.

Thanks Adas - so in this case, what would you recommend? Invisible prints, swabbing the invisible prints and using the swabs, or swabbing the gills? The gills are a little darker than the caps but not by much.

Depends on the preference of the person receiving them. So ask around, do a poll maybe.

If they don’t drop much then swabbing is probably the best bet. Same as PE.

To help visualize, can you sharpie foil let's say white. Or hell paint it with acrylic or latex.

Here is the final result of the first tray of NecD to pin. I'm in awe. I have several more NecD trays going that have nice looking fruits but they are taking a bit longer and aren't as dense as this tray. I absolutely took clones from this tray. Harvesting the fruits right now.

I haven't seen this before and it gave me a laugh:

Adas, how are your Rainbow Eucalyptus pins doing? Mine just popped up yesterday and here is what they are looking like today. Hard to see but there are other clusters on the tray. I will get fruits but doubt it will look anything like this incredible NecD tray.

Holy hell those are stunning! Is the light or are they albino? The close up shots make the gills look more grey than the other!

Yeah I was actually thinking of using a sharpie for the prints. I have some sterile swabs arriving today - will play a bit with those and see what kind of spore load I can get on them.

Thanks Coversall - I think the 6500k lights from my tent make them look more albino than they really are, but they are definitely very light... the gills have a little bit of color, but less than any other pans I have seen and I think the reason why is that this phenotype produces very few spores, and this also makes the caps look nicer because you can't see the spore stains that have fallen on the caps. The spore print is invisible even though the spores appear brown under the microscope.

Looks like my first Rainbow Eucalyptus flush is finished. Pretty lack-luster. I like that these have a very different coloring and shape than I am used to seeing but they aren't that easy on the eyes and are way too short and too sparse. I'm not sure I will keep exploring them much, though I do have 2 grain jars of them growing out. I may take a clone and make 1 grow attempt from clone to see if I get a fuller/bigger flush and if not, I'll just move on.

I just cased some trays of Huasteca, BVI, and Alabama and will be putting them in the tent in another couple of days. The white NecD tray has already shot up a nice second flush that looks like it's going to be pretty nice.

First pins. A little sparse, but do these look healthy?

It's the first pan run in the martha, I've been having issues with it being a little dry (I don't know why, humidity should be high in there?). Do these look stressed from low humidity?

Humidity range is I think 93-96%. Still not sure how to dial it in.
