I late-cased so not much grew out after casing. But I have to mist because my setup is not automated anyway. The casing is regular potting soil mostly.

They are going nuts. I have just discovered they have pinned INSIDE of the sub! Impatient lil fuckers! You can see a fruit on the left, and a hole in the mycelium made by another fruit.

Yeah this is happening with my cambos as well. They are popping right through thick overlay.
What does late case mean in your case?
I can reduce the amount of overlay a bit by casing really, really late but there is always some no matter what. Only if I wait for knots to form it's when overlay is reduced by maybe 50%.
Thick casing, thin casing, lots of FAE or restricted, 1:4 spawn ratio or 1:2, leached manure or non leached, nothing seems to change anything.
Maybe I try a tub without casing and see what happens. I also thought about applying a very thick top layer and put into fruiting right from the beginning.
Got to buy me some more mini tubs today, still got 7 MS jars to play with.

Beauty! Looks like they're popping out of a birth canal, lol!
Late case means I've waited some 2-3 days after full colonization. I think overlay mostly comes down to genetics.

Those Jambos are beautiful Jake!
Are you able to keep clone cultures going by transferring on agar (past T1)? Or by cloning again? Or do you trash that culture and go back to MS to look for another clone specimen?
Thank you in advance.
Edit: Here's the first flush on one of the newest trays I was anticipating. Some decent fruits, but nothing as big as my last photos.

The other tray I was anticipating is way behind, and is just now pinning.
The second flush from both trays that produced the 5g+ fruits really sucked. I'm hopeful the 3rd flush is better.

Thanks Adas and nice fruits ruawakeyet.
Well I took the plunge and made 3 tubs with layered sub.
Bottom layer is 1/2-1" coir, second layer 1 quart of spawn and top layer 1.5-2" manure/straw/coir put into fruiting condition at spawn.

Mimicking the outdoor grow by Zifozonke. I hope that FAE combined with a thick layer of sub and directional colonization from the bottom up will turn the mycelium into fruiting mode before it reaches the surface as conditions are getting gradually more favorable for fruit body production. Could be a lot of BS but I have no expectation either.
...got 4 more quarts to play with.

Cheers guys, I'm only working with pan cambo (Thai apparently), that's enough to keep me entertained at the moment. I do have a few pan cambo Jamaica prints but I currently just don't have the time or space to do both.
In a couple of years I will come begging for some new prints so start saving up for some stamps you nice people

Thanks ruawakeyet. Should only be maybe 3 more days or so.
Congrats on your latest fruits - I have to ask though - what did you do differently on that tray? Seems as though you may have moved past that stint of bad luck (same as I have)?

I definitely got some good luck coming back around, but I was almost too impatient to wait for it to happen. I almost rage quit!
The only thing different from this latest tray to the 2 recently pictured, is that they were made 3 to 6 days apart. The grain jars didn't all colonize at the same time, which kind of works since I can only pasteurize enough bulk for 3 trays at a time. If I was really on top of my game I could have them only 1 and 2 days apart.
I've got one more tray using the same subculture that just started pinning yesterday. I'd love it if this one would fill in some more, but I'm expecting another similar looking 1st flush.
So far the 2nd flushes are hilariously small! I have to laugh at them so it doesn't hurt so bad.

Here is the final result of the first tray of NecD to pin. I'm in awe. I have several more NecD trays going that have nice looking fruits but they are taking a bit longer and aren't as dense as this tray. I absolutely took clones from this tray. Harvesting the fruits right now.

I haven't seen this before and it gave me a laugh:

Adas, how are your Rainbow Eucalyptus pins doing? Mine just popped up yesterday and here is what they are looking like today. Hard to see but there are other clusters on the tray. I will get fruits but doubt it will look anything like this incredible NecD tray.

Damn! very nice that tray is looking great.
Wait so that is MS?
They're all so uniform and I don't see any spores

Thanks! Yes it was from MS... spore print to agar and did few transfers of it then put to grain. Unfortunately it doesn't look like I have a backup plate of this one, but I took 4 clones from it yesterday so hopefully the clones grow out the same way as this tray did. You are right about the lack of spores.... it could be that this particular culture doesn't drop spores. I'm trying to print a few now to see. My other two NecD trays are definitely dropping spores, but the fruits look a bit different from this tray. Here are the other two that are dropping spores:

Hindsight, that NecD flush is jaw-dropping! Well done!
Your REuc looks nothing like mine. It's doing well, but the fruits are skinny and smol. I'm disappointed to be honest. If they don't magically grow up to substantial size, I'll be going right back to Bunnel FL Pans. I love chonkers so the choice is clear to me. Yours look very chonky and nice, can't wait to see how they grow up! Will post pics of mine once they mature.
