How long does a pasteurized manure based sub stay healthy?

I made up a little too much, it's been in a ziplock over a week now. Will probably be 2 weeks old by the time I use it.

Should I re-pasteurize or is it still good to go?

Side note - I got an odor absorber from home depot. It works great- 90% less ass in my space. Totally worth $4

Thanks!

Having the sub just in a bag is not good, it will eventually mold out. But I've recently pasteurized and stored sub in jars, so they weren't exposed to spores, and they kept for weeks just fine. Only thing that grew was Actinomyces and that's actually fine.

Got it, thanks guys.

Does re-pasteurizing reset the clock?

I would do that with coir a as it's basically inert, but the sub seems quite alive and I'm not sure if multiple rounds is pasteurization is harmful to it.

Yes repasteurization is a completely valid option.

has anyone had much luck with pans in a humidity chamber type setup? i know lot of people use those indoor mini greenhouses or similar setups because of how dialed in the conditions need to be with proper fae and humidity. trying to find info on the issues ill run into and a proper set up! happy to be back, cheers!

I have a fogger and pc fan hooked up to a 66qt tub that seems to work out well with cycle timers

I think they’re both on for 30 seconds with like fifteen minutes between the two (fogger on for 30 sec then fifteen min before the fan runs for 30 sec) I haven’t ran anything for a few months so I couldn’t guarantee that’s what they are running but it’s something like that

Quick update:

Followed JOC's grain prep to the letter and it's working really well. I was a bit skeptical about the rye berries becoming hydrated enough given that his method doesn't involve cooking (just a very brief bring-to-simmer), but it works. I didn't split any rye berries after PCing to see how hydrated they are but I don't care so long as it works. Judging by the balance between split vs non-split grains of millet, the hydration looks great to me.

8 trays are consolidating now (the other two are in the next pic). NecD, Alabama, Rainbow Eucalyptus, Huasteca, and Florida Gulf Coast:

This is strange. Both of these are from the same clone. The grain jars looked and finished the same - really good no issues. I pasteurized the substrate for both of these trays from the same exact batch using the 12 hour instapot method. Yet these are consolidating very differently and the one on the left looks either sick or contaminated. I don't see any mold yet though.

does the left tray smells alright?
Got issues with trays which have not enough holes for ventilation during the colonization. Kinda rare problem and it accompanied with very prominent awful smell

Thanks for the reply - yes it doesn't smell as good as the other trays, and it's funny you should mention ventilation because I have been thinking about asking that question.... most of the teks I have seen for pans have people sealing the top of the trays with foil and I don't recall seeing anything about ventilation holes etc. As you can see in my pics, I'm using plastic tops that snap into place and they seal surprisingly well.

How much airflow do you think trays require during consolidation?

My trays 25x35cm. I recommend 6 holes for that volume. 3 lead me to the problem. Since I back to 6 holes problem go away competely.
I think it tie to pans fragility and don't covers with a lot of info cause most of the time bulk colonized in bags

Hi, it's my first attempt at pans and I'm worried about one of my tubs. The right side of the image looks like healthy mycelium to me but I'm not too sure about the left, it looks a bit different.
