Thanks Adas! I will try from MS again since it looks like the MS plate from that swab didn't have a single clean area.
Aside from the two types of mycelium I'm seeing that I showed in my previous picture, I have a couple plates that have mycelium that is extremely faint. So faint that it's tough to see unless you hold the plate at the right angle. Here is one plate, two different angles so you can see what I mean. Is any clean pan mycelium ever this thin and light?

That almost looks as if it was growing inside the agar, but not on it. Hard pass for me.

7 pan pin clones taken from a 8 quart micro mono, temp range was 64-72oF

I hope they have survived the bleach bath, the caps lost all color lol. The two clones I took a couple of days ago are a bit bacterial but the myc has no problem outrunning the slime. Let's see if the stronger bleach solution cuts down bacterial growth.
That will be enough to work with.

It's been 24 hours, somebody needed to post something...
BabaYaga, how are your pin clones doing? I've been curious about the bleach bath.
Hindsight, I want to apologize for my comment per the amount of lime to use for a casing mix. I believe that was my bad.
I am trying to figure out if my lime is old and/or weak, or if my pH meter is not accurate. I didn't mean to set anyone back from bad advice. I have since edited that comment, basically advising others not to follow it. I am sorry for the bad information.
I hope to hear some good news from everyone soon. Peace!

The first two clones which I dropped into a weak bleach solution (6-8 drops to 30ml soaked for 7 min) are bacterial as I said but the myc recovered in a day and is now outrunning the bacteria. Transferring from those is possible already but I will give it another day or two.
The strong solution (bleach water 1:1 soak time 15 min) has bleached all the color from the caps and made the samples partially translucent. No definitive recovery jet but also no bacteria so far. I does look like there is something going on in there but too early to say for sure.
Both times I washed the pins in sterilized water after the soak, did it twice. I will try 1:3 solution next time, gotta find that balance between knocking back the nasties and not stunning the mycelium too much.
Let's wait a couple of days and see what's going to happen.
EDIT: 1:1 is too strong, stuns the myc too much / kills it.

No apology necessary - it actually wasn't you. I saw your comments about the lime quantity but had found many links to casing teks months ago that were all over the place about lime quantity. I had been randomly following those. Some said "a pinch", others said to add however much gets you to 7.5PH (I have paper test strips and never really found them to work for muddy casing water), and still others had what seemed to me to be arbitrary amounts. While reading through all posts in this awesome pan thread (absorbing anything and everything I could), I saw yours, and your comments about having old lime, and Asura's comments in response.
All that said, my oldest tray, which is the one that I think I used too much casing lime, is starting to produce fruits, so I didn't kill it after all. I have no idea if I'll get much out of the tray but it is fruiting and I'm very happy about that. I have 5 or 6 more trays in the tent that should fruit soon too. The outdoor grow is back in action now with the recent warmer temps and I've harvested about 6 or 7 grams total from it so far. I've never eaten pans before and am planning on doing it with a friend very soon.

So my outdoor grow is producing a few odd looking pans. A few are white in color and I'm wondering, do you think these could be different mushrooms growing inside of my pan patch, do you think this could be a genetic albino trait (like seen in cubes), or some other reason?
If it is albino, I'm wondering if I should print it and see if I can reproduce this?

Pan colors can vary and tend to be more white when maturing and/or when drying, observed that all summer with bispo, in this patch I would think near the hedge with rocks maybe it is locally a little bit more dry/hot compared to center of straw mulch..

Just a PSA for those of you who are having a hard time finding a rack to fit your 66qt Sterlite purple handle bins to turn them into JCM FCs. I found a pretty close fit on Amazon. It's $15, 10.5" wide and expandable to 22.5in long. Its called the "Mind Reader Expandable Counter and Cabinet Shelf"
Here are a couple of action shots:

I love this little rack. I use it in my SAB, it jams against the walls for a perfect fit that doesn't move.

Buying 2 of these cycle timers is one of my biggest regrets. I hate them. The smallest movement of a dial will change a large amount, depending on where the dial is. Short duration cycles aren't so bad, but past the 5 minute mark they jump large amounts, anywhere from 90 seconds to 4 to 5 minutes. And I'm talking about moving a dial about the width of a hair, the smallest change you can make.
I've vented about these before, but trying to change the fog and evap cycles has me pissed off again. I hope this warning can prevent someone else from experiencing the same. These 2 can not be synced, and one must be reset every morning because it's off by a second or two compared to the other one. These timers suck for fog/evap systems. These were a complete waste of $50, I hope I can resell them and get some money back.

same boat man ) espicially if your outside the US and have a 220V/60Hz. I use 220/110 transformer, but 60Hz is unagreeable.
This one is brilliant for any voltage https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007ID8UGI/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
also very cool thing about it which you can't find in manual - when it turns off it moves the current to empty terminal. you can use that terminal to connect second device. so it will constantly switching between mist and fan in series. probably you want to give a break to the whole system, so I connect Tork to simple mechanical timer which operates with 15min intervals and it becomes like a master timer for a whole system. For 15 minutes Tork switch devices then master timer turn off the chain and give 15/30/etc break. 10 mintues intervals could be ideal for that, but can't find such a device, not a big deal. hope it helps

Hey guys, I'm joining the pan cult, my first T1s are growing out
This is a T1 from a wild print (thanks @multifractal!).
I'm hoping for advice on this white clustering?

I've seen it on cube ms plates, but not often on T1 or later so I never gave it much thought. But, most of my pan T1s have it.
Should I continue transfers until it clears? Or just ignore it?
