Again, thanks for the advice. I'll keep you posted.

So here we go everyone, I have three jars of Pan Cambo Sandose at just about 100% colonization. There are two pics of each jar, and the final pic is a close up of what looks like blueing on the mycellium.
But to be honest I cant tell if these friggin things are clean, which is why I'm here haha, I need your help and critical eye!! what do you guys think??

Let them go to 100% then smell them. Do you know how pans smell?
I always wipe the mycelium off my old plates with my finger and smell them to get familiar with the scent... As weird as it sounds it has helped me distinguish clean from dirty

I will do just that, I dropped the dishes in the jars on the the twelfth of this month. So I'm working on my third full week to full colonization...I feel like that seems like a long time?
They seem pretty clean to me, I do see some clear metabolites but not nearly as much as in my last round of jars, clear is normal though...right?
when colonized should the grain be a thick white like cubes, or a little whispier and see through?

Clear metabs are ok. It's the dark amber metabs you don't want.
With pans you'll have thick and faint.. The faint growth usually thickens over time tho.

I'm not trying to be rude, but I wouldn't have dropped those just yet. They do not look grain ready at all IMO.
I thought we already talked about not dropping those plates in the past tho, or maybe I'm trippin

You are correct Mr. Fox, we did talk about this already, and I am following your advice. But I had some old sterilized grain jars laying around that I didn't want to toss so I said what the heck and dropped em, more of just an experiment while I continue cleaning up the myc on agar. I figured if it worked out...BONUS...if not it was all garbage anyway so no loss. I have been cleaning up the bisporous and the cinctulus in the meantime, I'm on my fourth transfer now, hopefully this will be the one!

i think they look good petey, and fox is right about waiting to drop, but honestly ive dropped stuff plenty of times that's nowhere near that colonized and it works out fine..i always just figured the myc would finish colonizing the agar in the grain jar. im not saying anyone should do this, just saying its no biggie

Unfortunatly since i'm working with syringes, only 2 plates are viable and weren't contaminated to the point that it didn't germinate.
Sorry for the shitty pics, don't know whats up with my iphone, the focus on it got fucked for some reason
Pan goliath, which looks super good, very fluffy and cottony.

And Pan jamaica, which was slightly wispy, not such a cottony growth

Time to wait for them to grow out a bit and transfer to more plates for a more uniform growth

More better? Do I need to think about doing another transfer to agar? Or do I need to let it grow out a little longer?
#2 may have a contamination
#4 and #5 have some condensate on the inside. Looks funny, but I'm sure it's just water on the lidd

@FriedEgg i just had the same thing happen with a pan tropicalis syringe..just kept growing bacteria, so i sterilized a jar grass seed and knocked that up, got a little bit of myc to grow and then transferred what looked white to antibiotic agar..ill let ya know if it works k..if you need a fresh cyan print let me know k

So I think I had a gram of the pan cambo. The visuals were absurd. I've only tripped really hard on cubes once so I can't compare scientifically but the visuals were super geometric and wavy. Cubes I got more abstract visuals in my mind. This was far more geometric. Very intricate. Also I stepped outside when it got super intense. The sky turned into a painting of sorts. Like a geometric painting. Very cool.
Anyways. A lot less mind fuck. That is probabaly because I was with other people though I think we kept each other halfway in touch with reality.
Probabaly over did it a bit. .6 would have been plenty. Sure was beautiful though. Hard at times for sure. By the end of it I was laying on the ground just wishing the visuals would stop so I could sleep. They go so damn fast I wish they would have slowed to 25 percent speed.
Beautiful experience except for my friend seizing while I was peaking. That would have been traumatic enough sober, I though he was dead.
The part that bothers me about mushrooms is after the peak/during I feel so weak and drained of energy. Definitely doesn't make the comedown as enjoyable as it could be. I guess that's just part of it though.

I'm not sure man. I guess it's happened to him before like 4 or 5 times. I think it's when he's stressed and hungry. The shrooms I'm sure we're a factor. He had the same amount as me. He was choking on food and stopped breathing. Luckily I snapped out of my trip enough to put him on his side and yell at him to breathe. Scary stuff man.
