Today's payday so tomorrow I'm going to be able to afford to buy two more boxes of mini rounds to make 16 more plates.
Man. I don't see myself not making a run of pasty plates per week. Maybe it's the newness to the agar and excitement that has me keep making more. Maybe I'm just bored.
Anyone's else have this "issue"?
Pans huh. They look really pretty. I think I've read they're more potent?
I've been pouring 20+ plates per week for over a month. So, yeah. I mean, if you're gonna put in the effort, you're gonna need a bunch of plates goin'

Hi guys. Can someone spare a bit of advice. Here are two pictures of my agar jars taken from the bottom. This is how much they grew in just 6 days.
Should I transfer tonight or should wait few more days?
Also if someone could point out the best place to transfer from each plate? Maybe by clock hour pointer.
Also how many transfers you guys usually make from one plate?

How's this look? Now what should I do with it? Put it on grains? BRF/Manure cake? Transfer to another dish? Liquid culture?

Transfer from 7-8 o'clock to a new dish. Looks like you can get a few good ones so take several.

You could even transfer from 11 o'clock, but I personally prefer thick tomentose growth

Do you see some contamination? Or do you want me to be extra cautious?

The first and fourth quadrants. Bald spot, and it also looks powdery/patchy like unlike mushroom mycelium.

yeah, I ain't seein' it, but I'll take your advise. Maybe I'll be able to make a transfer tonight. Like you said, I should be able to get 2 or 3 wedges out of the 3rd quadrant.
thanks again

you won't necessarily 'see it', but that's why we try to learn how to identify it by how the mycelium is reacting.
