Cambos are the most potent pan. Atleast 6x-7x stronger than cubes. 1g will make you crazy

Have you tried bisporus yet?
Not sure if they are stronger but very clean.

Hi all,
just started reading this thread. I'm on page 11 at this moment. Have a question thou. When you guys talk about straw, does it have to be wheat straw or can I use hay like this?

That looks like grass straw... It should work but if there are seeds in it you may be risking contams

How in the hell am I supposed to tell the difference between mycelium and cob web?
Anybody got a nice pictorial? I've seen a few pictures on the site, but they are always comparing cubensis mycelium vs contamination. It's much more obvious with cubes.

Cobweb will completely engulf the substrate within a day or two.
Mycelium won't.
Cobweb also turns a grey color when it matures.
Hope this helps.

Looks like good mycelium from the pics, but they're not very up close.

Thanks. That does help. I'm giving up on these plastic containers and little glass jars. I can't see crap.
I bought some glass petri dishes. The lids don't fit nicely, so I'm supposed to put what? Saran wrap? Ziploc bags? Clear packing tape?
