I’ve fruited pans in an unmodified tub with no issues, even in a Saran covered flower pot lol. But of course it won’t produce AS much as a GH considering u have good genetics also, but still plenty enough for me, literally still have a lot dried from 3 years ago which I even shared that batch with many friends
97.2g from one flush from a small unmodified mono, and kept flushing 3 or 4 more times if I’m not mistaken.

Thanks a lot again for all the good pointers re low tech teks. I think I will go with trays in a SGFC since I already have everything available for this.
I would have two more questions regarding the substrate. Maybe someone can help out.
1) The Asura Tek says that horse manure should be bone dry. Let’s say I got some pretty fresh from the horse. How should I dry that and how long will it take?
2) In the the same tek the substrate is pressure cooked in bags which are later inoculated. Could I also pressure cook it in jars and later add agar wedges to these? If so, for quart jars would that still be 4 hours of pressure cooking? This might be a stupid question but just want to make sure since I never worked with h-poo. :-)

Jars work fine. You don't need to PC for so long. 1.5-2h is good enough.

1- you have to let it dry till it looses all the ammonia smell this will take a while, breaking up the manure will speed this up OR you can leach it with water, e.g. spray repeatedly with garden hose.
2- keep in mind that you can't mix up jars like you can do bags, Asuras sub prep is designed for bags so it might be less suitable for jars. Your jars have to be very fluffy, not packed at all and should get a decent amount of inoculant or they might stall.
I'd say choose a tech and follow it to a T. Mixing up things when doing new stuff can easily lead to confusion and will make it hard to troubleshoot the process. You can always go crazy once you got the hang of things

Oyster mycelium is very aggressive, I don't think the cubensis would have survived

What cubensis? You probably won't get any pans from that. If oysters fruited it means, they already ate all you're sub.

Hi there,
I seem to be having problems getting my hands on dried horse manure, and drying is a bit difficult for me at the moment as I dont really have outdoor space.
Was wondering whether anybody could tell me if this stuff would work (I probably would have to shred it beforehand, right?)?
https://www.amazon.de/COMPO-Pferdedung-Organischer-N%C3%A4hrstoffd%C3%BCnger-Rosen/dp/B0781VSXRJ/ref=sr_1_3?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&dchild=1&keywords=horse+manure&qid=1623773607&sr=8-3
Thanks a lot!

I used this successfully https://www.raiffeisenmarkt.de/garten/pflanzenpflege/bio-duenger/Naturen-Bio-Pferdedung-4820
Mixed it with straw pellets and brought it to field capacity. Measure the amount of water that you use, so you don't have to press it out everytime.

Any best practices for storing pasteurized substrate? I pasteurized in sous vide bags a week or more ago, sealed them afterwards then tossed on the balcony to avoid the stench. One has clearly been fermenting a bit, it’s looking like a balloon.
At a minimum I’m guessing pasteurize again before use, maybe toss the inflated one?

Fuck it man that’s a couple doses. Plus that’s a better flush than I’ve had on the surface sometimes
The jambos are just beasts.

smurfreak said: its not cubensis. Its pan.Cyan. and pan.cambodgiensis. All trays fruiting only with lemon oyster.. How is this possible? I mixed spawn with substrate in 1:4 ratio. Thats when oyster spores must have settled on my trays.. How is it possible Oyster spores germinated and displaced my Pan. mycelium? Are they so much stronger than ready to use Panaeolus spawn? i guess i will have to clean that room ?!
Maybe you mislabeled you're spawn... And it was yellow oysters the whole time.
