ya the holes on the top are critical to good airflow as ive always said but as far as the condensation drops that develope on the underside of the lid they shouldnt even b an issue or be dripping off onto your trays at all. i mean yes you will get a lil bit and when you remove the lid you just kinda lift it straight up and off then you can just let it drip onto the floor and give it a wipe with a paper towel. as ive said many times if your getting that bad of condensation you need to do the best u can to equalize the temp of the room to the temp of tbe fc. my room stays at aroumd a constant 72-75 deg f and my fcs are about 78 deg f. also i run a ceiling fan in the room on 24/7 to keep air moving around and above the fcs. heres what my lids look like
as u can see i hardly have any beading at all. my suggestions are to lower the temp of the submerged heater a lil at a time until you notice less condensatiom and if you have to raise the temp a tad try to raise it in the room and het them as vlose to eachother as possible. also some kind of fan that just moves the air in the room really helps. like i said i prefer a ceiling fan but if thats not an option a small fan on a stand that moves back and forth will do. now u dont want fuckin tornado alley or anything just a bit to circulate the air in the room is all.
also just to clear up what was said. my lid at no point is off or gapped in any way. i have however suggested to ppl that if they need to up the evap a tad to flip the lid for an hour or so here n there but really thats not even needed. i just wanted to clear that up

nice it's been almost a year for me I just can't get myself in the mood. Stuck with cubes too.
JCM did you see my question about how many air bubbles we need going on? Is there a way to dial in the tub based on how much the pump is pushing air? Other than that your write up is awesome.

Damn that’s some tropical sexiness.
It’s been a while since I ate pans. I don’t trip very often generally these days.
I was testing after every harvest when I first started but that quickly became impossible with all the varieties shroomery bestowed upon me.
My favorite part of pans right now is giving them to people who’ve never had anything but cubes. It’s more fun for me to see them go for the ride for the first time than it is to do it myself.

Anyone grow pan jams outside? Want to start up a few patches and wondering which strains will be suitable.

They all should be if you’ve got the climate.
There was a guy months back doing them outside in a little plastic pool with decent results.

Lovin those tropicalis, Jake. they sexy
Just to quickly add my experience with the condensation discussion. I had a crazy amount of condensation and had to wipe down my lid twice a day. Once my house warmed up I turned the aquarium heater off and there was so little condensation even on the sides of my JCM FC that I was worried my humidity had dropped. But then a few days later I got a solid pinset that matured in like 2-3 days.
I’m not saying to turn off the aq heater, but rather just agreeing with JCMs statement about equalizing outside and inside temps as much as you can to reduce condensation. I’d imagine if you live in Russia that’s a little more difficult to accomplish ;D

Cool cheers - I’m in the UK, weather is a bit like the Netherlands, I’ve just looked for strains that grow naturally around here and I’ve decided to go for wavy caps.

Just finished shredding straw for my first pan attempt.

Question about dehydrating the fruit. Is there any reason to be any more delicate with them and temps/time? Or should I just treat them like cubes?
