I hope I can have some kind of success soon. I put 4 cultures on grain 5 days ago. Shook them all yesterday. The 1 that AKA gave a thumbs up started showing recovery after 16 hours. I hope it likes my manure recipe. Getting excited to

With all these new recruits I must warn you to take care of your feet and try not to do anything stupid. Look, it's pretty basic here. You stick with me, you learn from the guys who've been in country awhile. Socks are very important in my platoon.

Sounds about right.
I was SO bummed out when I dried my first pans, which were Cambo. That 6% weight is brutal, until you eat some

Hey JCM it's hard to tell from a photo but is there any "dialing in" of the air bubbles to make sure there isn't too much / not enough humidity? If you have 6 air stones I'm assuming the water is rumbling and you mentioned splashing before. With pastys monotubs he showed how the condensation should look around the various holes. Your method seems like you plug it in fill it with water and Jambo in no time.

I've seen a few members on here say it's better to eat a pan fresh than dried, but maybe you could say that about all the species.

Mine came out to about 92% water. It was like grass clippings when pulling them from the dehydrator

Fresh pans have so much water that they're really refreshing IMO and taste really good.
On the other hand, dried pans taste a lot worse than dried cubes to me

Trying to jump back in to the pans again... first go round didn't really take off... had these syringes for a while and figured I'd try em out for shits and giggles... did a drop per plate x4 of Pan Cyan Hawaii and Pan Trop India from SW... will post pics upon germination...

I modified my tub a bit and made a few holes in the top cover. Now the air flows go more evenly and the area where the fruit bodies grow is less saturated with moisture.Previously, this affected the ratio of water in the mushroom. From the first NecD flash, I came out with a raw weight of 316 g.Everything shrank to 30gr. The fruits are more elastic and powerful. Maybe this will help someone in setting up a JCM tub.

316g dried to 30g that's crazy
Doesn't the JCM FC already call for SGFC layout of holes on the lid though? Am I missing something here

Yes, the lid is slightly open at JCM,I wanted to say my experience in setting up.Previously, condensation accumulated on the lid and drops fell on the mushrooms, but now this is not the case. But these are all my experiences...leading to more and more interesting results. My bath is a little different from JCM and I have used the experience of many on this forum and share the results in the hope of something useful.

By the way, I strive for such madness after the results of Asura,Jakeoncid and JCM - because they have dry weight prevails over raw.

I'm quite new to the pan game (mycology as a whole for that matter) but I thought losing all that weight from drying was just how the pan story goes. Good to know though thanks angam. Yet another factor to add to my goals with this amazing species

try drying some weed and you'll see some significant shrinkage. I don't know if George Costanza hangs around the pan threads but he'd back me up on this.

Grass clippings is completely accurate. And I would agree that dry pans taste worse than cubes to me. They seem more bitter. The first pic is from my second semi successful grow. The other pic is from my third. I hope to get that bit of girth back.
