396g wet. Pretty good yield even with the large amount of feet I cut off and fruits I didn't harvest.
These guys were much taller this time and just seemed more healthy overall despite the trich. I'm not sure if that's because of the different manure I used this time or the fact that I used much less water in the sub. I'll have to try another tray with the manure I used in my previous 2 grows with less water this time and see the results.
I have another quart of spawn ready to go in the fridge. Now I just need to make a new batch of poo. I'll probably trash the remaining 3qts of casing I have from the last pasteurizing session as I believe that's where the trich came from. Not sure what happened here.

Thanks to all of the incredible members on here and the lovely JOC Tek, my third attempt to grow these pan cyans has been successful. These are Peace River. I now understand the desire to not go back to cubes.. At least for a while lol. Gonna take some clones and hope to improve.

Fraid those are cubes, this is getting more common, I now know of at least 5 people that have been sold cubes when they were buying pans.

Beautiful! How come other people's grows don't turn into sporey nightmares! I like to let the caps flatten as they look cool, but the water in my FC turned dark with all the spores that were dropped! They were fricken everywhere!
My BVI clone is waking up which cool, I'd like to get a couple of fruit from it. I feel like I might wasted the LC on this overly wet straw/manure mix. Such is life.
Some of the jambo clones I took from that last grow are looking like they could be cleanish (touch wood) which is very exciting!

Hello everyone, my first post here.
I have read the first 250 pages of this thread, as well as the last 20 or so. I am infatuated with reading everything about panaeolus. I have read most of the write ups I could find, there are so many talented growers, thank you so much for sharing! I have read so much and looked at so many pictures, (even a time lapse!), I actually had a dream the other night that I grew some! I probably have another 2 to 3 weeks before I will finish reading this entire thread.
Six days ago I made up a mL of spore solution from a PHV print. Those purple/red spores are so beautiful under a microscope! I only have access to a gem scope right now, (low power) so I couldn't see them as well as I would have liked. I am planning on ordering a cheap digital microscope soon for some digital micro-photography!
Today I looked at my leftover spore solution still in a syringe. I was shocked to find that spores have germinated in sterilized RO water! There was no nutrient added to the water. I wasn't trying to germinate them, as that would be illegal where I am.
From what I know from reading, that wasn't supposed to happen was it? I considered it may be contaminants, but I didn't see any on the slide. I even placed another drop on a new slide. I see little clumps of reddish spores attached to what I assume is mycelium. Even if what I am seeing is mold, how could it, or anything, germinate in plain water?
Sorry my first post is so long and I'm not even a grower. I just wanted to contribute something, and to say hello and thanks to all.

Welcome! Nice first post!
I have heard anecdotal evidence of spores germinating in water before. If it was tap water then there is always a chance something else was in there. Otherwise, life finds a way!

if ur water and fruits are turnin black on ya ur letting them go a lil too long. i harvest as soon as they start to flatten a good amount and start droppin lightly on the fruits underneath. if u let them go too long just as with anything else ur gnna end up with a horrible mess.

Yeah looking back at the photos I should have picked them a little earlier. I don't mind so much. The jambos fucking spored hard. Still got nice dark prints despite the spore dump in the FC!

Very decent height! There is something to strive for when you see such results.

Thank you everyone! I have a tray of what is supposed to be Pan Cyan Hawaii that I spawned 24 hours before that jambo tray that caught trich and it is just now finishing colonizing. I'm gonna throw some casing on it and see what happens.
