I have inoculated this compost/shit pile the other day with my Pan Cyan Florida. The consistency is absolutely ideal, I'm hoping it takes hold and starts growing!

Has anyone ever done this before? I'm curious if they can overwinter in my area (probably not but I'll observe).

ADAS the surface looks very dry. For a tropical species I reckon you best keep that patch moist until pinnage.

It's cool my man! I'm hoping with a heavier duty air pump I can use 1 air stone instead of 6 like JCM. Do you think adding perlite to the water would improve anything?
Hey I looked at your substrate again tiptrippy I don't see nothing either haha.

Stick to the tek man don't try to make your own until you know the specific conditions they require from your own experience. I can't answer your questions because I personally haven't tried that but I definitely wouldn't add perlite. If only for the reason it would just be an extra cost

I understand. Maintaining the 99% humidity is the biggest issue here. I wonder if JCM style FC could work with psilocybe cyanesens. RR is a big fan of those compared to pans/cubes but they're pretty much outdoor only.

ps cyans are a totally different animal and require totally different conditions. those are a woodlover and actually do better outdoors in cooler temps. also to put pans and cubes on the same level is not even close to correct as pans are on average 3-5 times more potent than your average cubensis so the pans/cubes way that was written is totally not correct. i only say somethin about that as there is a whole lot of retarded ppl out there who may look at something like that and think they are the same and end up eating 3.5 grams of pans and end up raping the dog or some shit😂😂

JCM I believe in you to create the ps cyans indoor tek lol. Why do the most believed species have to be the hardest to fruit?

ppl have done them indoors before but i dont believe its even worth the trouble for what ive seen ppl get outta it to be honest with ya. they do much much better outdoors as far as im concerned and im sure most will agree. i know psilo knocked out some nice ps cyans and azures last year outdoors that he was kind enuff to send me some prints from and i intend to give them a go when i move and can have an outdoor place to make it happen

The pile is dry on the outside, but that's coz we didnt have much rain lately. But on the inside the moisture is just perfect it seems.

I was just saying the legend RR didn't like pans or cubes. You are spot on I wish people could use the search box or even the FAQs here to have a basic understanding. I bet there are many times people took a large dose knowing nothing about the species. Kind of like when Paul Stamets ate the whole bag lol.

Wood lovers are actually pretty easy they just take a long ass time but outdoor patches are not hard at all to do, but honestly in my experience pan‘s actually hit harder anyway and you don’t gotta wait 1-2 years

I know what you're thinking but you actually need a layer on top of what you have. For tropical species you need to mimic the high humidity they naturally grow in. I'd use a thin layer of grass clippings, or straw or coir/vermiculite. You need the top layer to always be moist so it creates the humidity you need to trigger pins.
Jake....looks good for MS. When JCM moves we're all having a party at the new place lol.

Laid out the 4 jars of straw/manure that the BVI clone had colonised. Pretty ghetto. And the mix was 100% too wet, even before I poured ~25 ml of LC into them. Will bare that in mind next time I try this straw/manure mix approach.

Covered it up and will let it recover for a couple of days and see if it gets the point of casing.
